Retired military and living near Antietam battlefield. |
IF YOU NEED FAMILY LINKS MADE, PUT YOUR REQUEST HERE. MY EMAIL ACCOUNT HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING SOME ISSUES. THANKS
If I have added a family member or a good friend, I am happy to transfer memorials. I am not bothered by F.A.G. guidelines in transfers. I am concerned about getting family members "back together." I DO transfer distant relatives since they SHOULD be with family.
I am also happy to transfer memorials of close friends as well as family.
REMEMBER, these sites are in memory of someones' ancestors. If you place a photo on a memorial, make it good enough that you would be happy with it on your own.
All men die...not all men really live.
I am looking for Charles & Flo Liddington. Flo died in 1972. Charlie was alive in 1974. They were my mothers' mother & step-father.
I believe they lived modestly within a half hour of Danville, PA. Also,
I am also searching for any info regarding the roster for the 33rd or 34th Battalions of the Maryland Militia. An ancestor I am searching for, Thomas Mock, who served with this unit in New Jersey in 1777 under George Washington. He had a wife named Sarah and parents were George & Catherine Mock. They were from "SUPPOSEDLY" living between Sharpsburg and Middletown, Washington & Fredrick County, MD.

Hi BIRDMAN! Great Name!
I left some edits for Mary the other day but came to your page here & read what you said & figured I would go ahead & get my 2nd great aunt transferred to me#47107475 so I can add her Bio & attach her to her mother, Elizabeth (Morris) Harris Bird we have had NO luck finding her father William Harris who disappeared after 1860 census (maybe Antietam? I heard some locals picked up arms but we don't know!;) & by 24 Jan 1867 her mother Elizabeth remarried to Thomas Bird. Mary was born & raised at what is now 110 Chapline St(the little cabin attached to the Grain building) when she married Edward Thomas Hebb 9 Jan 1868 they lived right on Main St.(I know what house but not sure about the address)THANK YOU! Jen Walston Harris Hill

Wow Birdman, that was the fastest photo turnaround ever! Thank you so much!

Thanks Ken for checking to see if there was a headstone. I would love a picture of the area even though there is not headstone. In my opinion it is better than nothing.
I am working on linking Isenogle's (and their many various spellings) to other family members (mine Icenogle) on findagrave.com. I haven't figured out who this person is yet and how they fit into the family (who their parents are). This is why I requested a photo hoping it would provide more information. It's up to you if you want to transfer it to me. I will surely revisit it until I figure out which family line this person belongs to.
Thanks for creating the memorial. It really helps, as it is sometimes impossible to figure out where people are buried unless someone posts their memorial on findagrave.com.

Yes, Birdgirl and BIRDMAN are the best names! I am a 6th generation of the Bird/Byrd Family in Newton County, GA and very proud of it! Have a great day

|William Stark||RE: Antietam National Cemetery, 23rd Ohio Infantry|
Thanks for your response--I do understand the time element involved with being a graver. There are 260 names on the 23rd's regiment monument in Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland and many are buried at Antietam National with headstones and others that are supposedly there but have no burial record or headstone. It has taken me two months and hours of research per day to do the first hundred so if I keep working at a steady pace I hope to finish this project by February, so this is a serious undertaking to me.
So, do you have any idea how many unknown burials there are in the Ohio section at Antietam--ballpark estimate? Some bodies were removed for reburial in Ohio but can be difficult to track down, otherwise they must be unidentified burials at Antietam National.
I would gladly accept transfers, add the biographies and then transfer them back to you which I have done in the past but I don't know what your position would be on this. What do you think?
I do wish to commend your consistency in creating memorials for those buried at Antietam National, Ohio troops especially, but others as well. If we gravers don't take the time to put forth the effort now to create and edit these memorials, who will? If no now, when?--maybe never.

I have been sending edits for members of the 23rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry buried at Antietam National Cemetery through since the beginning of July. Are you behind in adding the edits? I will be working on this project for months into the future so addition edits will be coming through. Could you check your edit requests on a regular basis so we don't get too far behind?

My error. Donald's wife is Helen Apperson Shiflet.
Her mother is Dorothy Johnston Apperson, Hewlett.
Dorothy's mother is Mary Bear Johnston, which is
my maiden name, and related to my family.
