|Green Jewell||James Holland Howard|
I noted your very informative bio about Constable James H. Howard. Just wanted to clarify one point. You mentioned Governor Ben Tillman and the SC Dispensary system and resistance to it and then moved on to discussing Howard as representing a new era. In point of fact, the Dispensary system was effectively shut down in 1907. The work that Howard was doing at the time of his death was under federal Prohibition. The text as written is a little misleading. you might also be interested to know that JH Howard is honored at the SC Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame in Columbia as an officer who died in the line of duty.

I am not sure how this happened, but can you take a look at this memorial Find A Grave#42124254. I believe that he is tied to the wrong father (being John Thomas Thomas.)
There were several"John Thomases" in the Sptbg area, but this one didn't have a son of that name that I know of. I have researched this family extensively. Also I have the family bible records and there is no child of that name in the bible pages.
Let me know if I can help or if I made a mistake.

Hi. Two other people have added three graves out there, one being Loretta King who was buried in 1902. I think you should add the person you found and note where you got the information from. What is what is so cool about Find A Grave that several people digging thru various sources find pieces to put the puzzle back together. Thanks!
