YOU CAN ALWAYS TELL WHERE A BEAUTIFUL SOUL|
HAS BEEN BY THE TEARS AND THE SMILES LEFT BEHIND
My Lanigan ancestors came to America during the Great Potato Famine of Ireland. Their first child Sarah was born in New York in 1847. Her father John Lanigan and her uncle James Lanigan helped to build the first railroad into Fairfield, Iowa. (name spelled Larrigan in 1860 census) Both signed up for the Civil War in Jefferson County Iowa at Lockridge, Iowa. Both were Catholic. They both settled in Ottumwa, Iowa and that is when my grandpa James Aloysious Lanigan was born in 1860.He married Anna Phillips at the old St. Patricks church at Ottumwa on the South side.

I hope you can help me out. I have two people I need a cemetery picture on and I see that you posted a picture of the old Perlee Cemetery in Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa. My G G Grandmother Julia Ann Eddlesman 1806 passed April 1872 #99948407 is buried their. I did research with Verda Baird many years ago and she pulled up records on what cemetery she is buried in. It was a unmarked grave. My G G Uncle William Wesley Lee is also buried in the Perleee Cemetery right next to Julia, that is before a farmer bought the land and plowed all the cemeteries under, his was also unmarked. Williams info: birth 1847 death 1876 #115818517. You posted another cemetery in with William which is incorrect. Can you take the Cemetery you posted and swap it out with the Perlee Cemetery. My #47233907. I can be contacted at nstolns@gmail,com Being the other cemetery photo is one you posted I cannot remove it. I can take your picture and put it their but photos you take are copyrighted and I don't use anyone else's copyrighted photo. Their are laws on copyright's. Please let me know that you can do this for me. Many thanks.

I realize you copied vitals. I don't see "Son of ???". That is the part I am protesting. There are so many similarities, but vitals are different from Charles Sutton I am researching, and I've gotten those from his WWI registration. Be patient, I'm still looking.

What I have on Talitha Jackalina Van Cleave.
Born 26 Sep. 1854 in Wapello Co., Iowa.
Died 27 Oct. 1927 in Wapello Co., Iowa.
Buried in Wellman Cemetery.
Spouse - William Henry Wellman #144123216. His brother, Winfield married Talitha's twin sister, Tabitha.
Ancestry.com has her death "b/4 1937 in Florida."
Find A Grave search of Wellman Cemetery does not show Talitha's burial... or anywhere in Florida.
Suggestion: contact a funeral home in Ottumwa and see if they might help with Talitha's funeral or burial.

Management returned to you.
|Distaffs & Spears||Tabitha Leona Van Cleave - #40749578|
You have subject married to William Henry Wellman #144123216 (my entry). I received the following message: Re: William Henry Wellman and his wife. #144123216 - His wife, was Talitha Jackalina, not her twin sister Tabitha Leona Van Cleave.....they were my 2nd great aunt......and they happened to marry Wellman brothers. Wiillam H and Winfield Scott. Tabitha is married to Winfield Scott and buried alongside her husband in Iowa. And they married the same year, just months apart. It gets very confusing.......I'm still looking for Talitha's death and burial. If this memorial is not related to you, I would like to take it over to add additional information. Thank You.

Request you removed Tabitha from William Henry Wellman... making her marriage only to William's brother, Winfield Scott Wellman.

I am asking permission to copy two of your headstone photos for my husband's family tree. Nancy Modrell/Boyer and Solomon Boyer. Nancy is a distant relative of my husband. Will give you the credit for all of your time and effort. Thanks for your work with Find A Grave. Phyllis Nelson

Ruth Dodd (Baldwin) Orr died May 5, 1895, as shown on the stone (not May 7, 1895). Dates on gravestones are occasionally wrong, but this one is correct.
