Editorial: One of the joys of Find A Grave is that some contributors use computer databases to create thousands of memorials, some enjoy walking cemeteries and photographing tombstones, others are happiest linking memorials, and some honor the deceased by adding documents that enhance our understanding of their lives. Rather than complaining about the F.A.G. work of other contributors, shouldn't we be grateful for the diversity of contributions?

Phony "rules." A few F.A.G. contributors make up faux rules like, "No death certificates on my memorials," despite the fact that the FAQs specifically say, "Death certificates may be added." Maybe these folks missed the "follow the rules" and "play nicely with others" lessons in kindergarten?

That was an oversight on my part. I have
corrected it. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

Hannah Elliot Johnston
Hi Jay,

Did not know if you realized that Hannah Elliot and Hannah Johnston are one in the same person, married to Andrew Johnston. There is a previous memorial for her:

Okay - I may have answered my own question. I had that Mary Ann Duckwall and John Wesley Fawley m. 14Oct1869 but that appears to be the marriage date with Allen R Surber, who must be the father of Rachel. Sorry for the confusion!

I am a Fawley descendant. Hoping you can clear-up the apparent issue of Rachel's father? I am guessing he is not John Wesley Fawley Find A Grave # 33808012, the spouse of Mary Ann Duckwall m. 14Oct1869? Was Rachel an illegitimate child or adopted? Thanks!

Wonderful, thanks! It makes me feel good to see the family links on her memorial. I agree it would make sense to be able to add source to a suggested edit. Mike

Hi Jay! Happy to see you've found parent links for Hannah! Could you share your source so I could add it to her bio? Mike

RE: Henry Braden
Jay,
We could always use an extra pair of eyes down here, but I do understand and am very sorry about your wife. I am not a member of the society, but have met all of them and researched there and was very impressed with all they do. They have listed Frederick Braden but not a Henry. The guy who added most of the memorials did it from a list and then was not able to photograph Deerfield, so I have been there many times. My unknowns are in a different section of the cemetery, but I will in the fall go back and search the area where Lovella is buried and look for some of my unknowns to see if I can take a better photo.

Henry Braden
To answer your question the best of my ability. Henry Braden is not on any list for Deerfield Cemetery and we have an excellent Genealogy Society in Warren County which through their members, have mapped out all the cemeteries of Warren County. I, myself, have walked every inch of Deerfield as well and did not find a stone for a Braden. I have found a few stones that I could not read but not aware that any were near Lovella. Perhaps you should come and search as well to try to solve this mystery.
