I retired as an elementary school principal in 2000. As a person that sleeps only 4 hours a night that leaves 20 hours to fill. Sitting home is not an option. Now, I drive a school bus 5 hours a day and visit cemeteries every chance I get. I have never been to a cemetery that charged admission and seldom is there a crowd. My wife, Sandra, is of a like mind so it works well. We both enjoy the hunt and the thrill that comes with each discovery. Let us know if we can help. If you have additional information on one of my post or you are a relative and want ownership, I will gladly transfer it to you. Just ask. Oh! By the way just call me Doc!|
NOTE: Many times the family plot has names different from those on the headstone. I always attempt to provide a reference point for markers. Hope this is not confusing.
Two quotes worth remembering:
"Tread softly, dreams are buried here." Unknown
"If you wonder about your 'roots' you have two parents, four grandparents eight great-grandparents and 16 great-great-grandparents, and by the time you go back 10 generations 300 years or so- you had 1,024 people from whom you are directly descended. --Mady Castro

She is in Hollywood cemetery in Gastonia.
I sent an edit.
You put what was on her stone.
unfortunately the death date put on her stone is wrong.
It shows 1937 and she died in 1938. I can confirm that with death certificate and a family bible.
You do a wonderful job!!!!
|Denny Carlisle||Billie Reid Carlisle|
Richard - I apologize for the very tardy THANKs for the gravestone photo for Billie Carlisle in the Greenwood Cemetery. Denny Carlisle
|Bernie Cooper||George Washington Bryson|
Richard, The stone you have posted for George Washington Bryson #75025492 is actually for George Hamilton Bryson #62272313. George Washington Bryson was my GG Grandfather, he died in the Civil War and is buried in an unmarked grave near Rogersville, TN. Thanks, Bernie Cooper firstname.lastname@example.org
|James Robertson||Stanley Fuller Roberson|
Thank you for posting my cousin Fuller's death certificate. I search the Haywood County archives for it to no avail. It gave me Mabel's first name but her maiden name is illusive.
|Robert Wells Jr||RE: John Lowe|
My wife has taken a DNA test with Ancestry. If you took the test that could prove a link between these Lowe families.
|Rena Greene Mulder||Clemmie Goodman|
Clemmie's death certificate states she died on Jan 17, 1891 and was buried on Jan 18, 1891. Her headstone says death was on the 17th. Can you clarify with a source? Thank you! Rena

|Marcia Lynne vonGunden||Transfer & thank you|
Hello again Richard,
Thank you for your generosity in transferring:
Hattie Ollie Moss Patterson # 70352781
to my care. With your help I have successfully connected her with her mother, (still looking for her father) and her husband. As I receive more information, I will be adding it to Our shared memorial.
With sincerest appreciation,
|Jordan Suhre||Calvin Jordan|
Do you have any info on the death and burial of Calvin Jordan?? His wife is Lucy A. Jordan (McLemore)? I noticed you had information and photographs on the burial of Lucy Jordan, as well as her son William, and a few other siblings...
