Bio Photo Retired US Army Judge Advocate and Civil Affairs operator.

My list of Battle Buddies is a special virtual cemetery. It contains 14 soldier memorials who were killed in action or later died as a result of their wounds. I was privileged to have served with 6 of them. (If you read between the lines you will learn the stories of the other 2 who have a "family" connection to me.) Three other soldiers were fellow unit members and 6 of them were fellow Judge Advocate General Corps members. And 3 memorials are for civilians who were from units I was associated with. My memorials and sponsorships to all these servicemembers is my small effort to honor them.

I work (part-time) as Assistant Dean, California Southern Law School in Riverside, California – hence my "home page" is the business.

And here is the story about the memorials I added to the United Nations Cemetery in Busan, South Korea. When I was an enlisted medic, I was stationed in Busan. My sight-seeing of the city brought me to the cemetery. So nearly 35 years later I am happy to add names to this cemetery. The smaller countries are completed. (Larger countries like Canada and Turkey have to wait.) Do you – yes, YOU – have a connection to those soldiers, sailors, airmen who died in the Korean War? Please let me know and I will gladly transfer management of those soldiers to you.

No, no need to transfer. I didn't realize there were two different plaques. Thank you! Linda

RE: Transfer LTC Donovan
Yes, Stevan, I would like that very much. Our group is the Ladies and Gentlemen of the Washington State Veterans Cemetery. We are modeled after the Arlington Ladies. We attend burial services and present condolences to the family on behalf of the Washington State Governor, Washington Department of Veterans Affairs, and the military family. We also have brought the Wreaths Across America to our cemetery.

Did you have a special connection with LTC Donovan?

I posted the picture from Mike's obituary with permission from the Huron Daily Tribune, on the memorial you posted.( placing a phone call at 1pm) I have called the rectory, and they are to see if someone will go out to the cemetery to take a photo of his marker. They will announce the request on Sunday. I will use your email to forward anything which is received. Best wishes, Yvonne

RE: St. Ignasius in Ubly
Hello. I reside in FL but I still have friends and a few relatives who may be able to assist me in fulfilling your request for a photo of Mike's final resting place. I will contact you as soon as I receive verification that someone is able to secure a photo. Thank you for your service to our country, from the widow of two Vietnam veterans and the daughter of a Korean War veteran.
With best wishes, Yvonne
