Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my mother's family, the Suttons of Vermont, for the past three and a half years. Our Suttons originated in Lincolnshire County, England, with cavalier Thomas Sutton, who came to Hempstead, Long Island, New York, in 1647. His descendants and close relatives lived in Greenwich, Connecticut on the Byram River and New Castle in Westchester County. In 1788, my fourth great grandfather, Benjamin Sutton 1st, came with his wife, Jamima Van Wart, cousin of Isaac Van Wart, of Elmsford, his mother, Sarah, and brother James and his wife, Deborah Merritt, to St. George, Vt. Benjamin & Jamima then went to the present Dorset Street in Shelburne where they parented 14 children. From Benjamin and James descend all the Suttons of Vermont and from Benjamin, the New York Suttons who descend from Benjamin, Jr., William, and Luther, all of whom went to Louisville Landing, N.Y. on the St. Lawrence River, in 1836.

You posted headstone photos of Reginald Owen Ziegler (#40553318). Will you post the double headstone photo to his wife's memorial (#128229204)?

Ooops Paul...
I hit the wrong key :(
Rev Christian Wolf was pastor at Burgh Church
in the early 1800s, not 1700s (yikes!!)

RE: Rolland Bennett Photos Up
Fantastic photographs, Paul, thanks for taking so much trouble to track this down and take such great photos to give him a suitable memorial on this site. Thanks to you, I learned about Rolland's wife Ethyl and all the children of their combined family. I'm hoping I'll be able to get in touch and learn more about Rolland. Again, thanks so much, it is really appreciated. Jim

Ephraim Chaffee
Re: West River Cemetery .. Thank you for the listing of the people buried in West River Cemetery. If you look at Jane Blair Chaffee's Memorial #49029179 there is what is left of a stone to her Left (Her stone is in pieces too) - Im hoping that is Ephraim's stone. I can't read it from the picture they took - is there anyway to verify who it is or what that stone says? Thanks so much

Do you mean there is no stone for these people, or that you don't have a photo?

I appreciate your taking the time and effort to photograph these stones. I can see the difficulty in photographing them. Perhaps you could take photos of just the written sections on the stone to supplement the current photo of the monument so we can see what they say. Thanks again, I appreciate this.

Manners/ McGuire photos
A very special thank you for all your time, efforts and wonderful photos!!! This answers so many questions about that brother and sister in the family! Did you happen to see a marker for Clara's husband and Mildred's father, Robert Manners? His cousin and I have been in contact and we can't get a death cert or find an obit for him....even though she has his DOB/DOD. We assumed he would be with the family in this cemetery, as he died in Rochester. no sooner get one question answered and I come up with another one!!

We really do appreciate **all** you've done!!
Happy Spring,
