Bio and Links
I live in Katy TX and research mainly for my family. The names I research Darby, Hudson, Knox, Trammell, Smith, Owen/Owens, Green, Hartsfield, Hollan/Holland,Moore,Jordan/Jordon/Jourdan/Jorden, Warren, Wingfield in Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana as well as those that are tied in with them, Van Slyke and Price in Texas, Blakney/Blakeney/Cunningham in Texas and Illinois, Wilson and Tarpley in Illinois, Banks in Georgia, Alabama and beyond.

I was raised by my Grandmother and Great Grandmother and listened to many stories of her home in Magnolia Arkansas and the large family there. She worked with our cousin Ben Warren for many years on genealogy in regards to Hudson and Warren.

I welcome any corrections and additional information.

At times I will add people to the site that I stumble across just so I can help someone else along the way.

Not all my listings are family so ask to see if a transfer is possible.

Family connection
I believe Odie McDonald Ketchum to be a sister to Lee Ondrus "Pete" McDonald (Ref. Memorial #81550123). Daughter of Robert Byrd McDonald.
Odie was my great aunt. I met her when she lived with her sister. More family information can come from Odie's surviving nephew Robert Levi McDonald of Freeport, Tx.

Clarence Hudson
I recently created a memorial for James Clarence Hudson # 17292942 in Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Clarke Co. Alabama. You have a memorial for Clarence Hudson # 75172420 in the same cemetery . the dates on the stone are close but not an exact match to your memorial. Let me know if these 2 memorials are the same person. If they are I will delete mine. I try not to create duplicates. Thanks JA

Mem. #86480059 & Mem. #86480072 DEWS at Linwood?
Hi, Julane – I hope you’re having a great week. I sent a couple of SAC messages to you about these 2 memorials on 03 NOV, but I have discovered that some of my SAC postings did not go through (must have been a glitch in the system) and since I hadn't heard back from you, I thought I would send the inquiry this way to make sure you got it:

I wondered if you could tell me your source for John J. DEWS (1798-1873) & his wife Harriett (GRUGEL) DEWS (1807-1888) being buried in Linwood Cemetery? I came across the following:

“MR. JOHN J. DEWS, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of Monroe county, died last week, aged 75 years. He was for many years sheriff of Chatham county.” [(Macon) Georgia Telegraph and Georgia Journal & Messenger newspaper, Tuesday, 08 JUL 1873, p. 4.]

I also found the following item:

“FORSYTH. // Burial of Mrs. Harriet G. DEWS. . .FORSYTH, Oct. 24.—Messrs. H. W. DEWS of Newnan, G. M. DEWS and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. DEWS of Savannah and Mrs. Tom SANDFORD of Macon have been in Forsyth to attend the funeral of Mrs. Harriett G. DEWS, which occurred this morning. // The deceased was a most estimable Christian lady, over 81 years of age. She had been a member of the church about sixty-five years, and was among the organizers of the first Sabbath school of Savannah.” [Macon (GA) Telegraph newspaper, Thursday, 25 OCT 1888, p. 1.]

Thanks so much (& sorry my SACs didn't go through)! – John

Col. John W Colquitt
I have found a picture of whom I believe to be Col. John Wesley Colquitt. I believe the photograph has been misidentified as that of Pvt. John Chelsey Colquitt by his family. I am in the process of trying to gain access to the UCV records in Baton Rouge to see which one of the two were high ranking officers within the organization. I believe it was the Col. and not the Pvt. I also believe that Pvt. John was a nephew of the Col. Have you done any further research on Col. John?

RE: Howard Homer Baker
Sorry it can't be deleted I didn't open the memorial. I have control over it but didn't enter. It's ok just send me the other one, perhaps they will let me combine them. It doesn't hurt having two in the mean time.

Thanks,
Ruth Baker

Howard Homer Baker
Hello,
I would be willing to take over the grave listing for Howard Baker, he is my husband's father. I noticed there are two find a grave listing for Howard Baker at the Azle cemetery, but only one plot listing. We had been searching for Howard's grave and just found it about a week ago.

Sincerely,
Ruth Baker & Howard M. Baker
Utah.

Mary Tucker Christie
Hi. I saw your memorial for Mary L. Tucker in the Emerson Cemetery in Columbia County, Arkansas. Someone has her linked to Walter Waiter Christie and to William Walker Christie. She was not married to Walter Waiter Christie, but was married to William Walker Christie. Walter Waiter Christie was the brother of Albert Marvin Christie who was the father of William Walker Christie. Please unlink Mary as Walter Waiter Christie's spouse. Thanks. Alton P. Christie
