Every life matters. As an author and researcher, I've been the beneficiary of the knowledge and assistance of thousands of historians and genealogists. I try never to miss an opportunity to pay these favors forward.
You are welcome to share my photos among family members. Photo credit is appreciated but not required.
Accuracy is important to me. If you spot errors, please let me know. If you send me additional information to add to memorials, INCLUDE YOUR SOURCE/DOCUMENTATION. I decline to post information from copyrighted sources (most books and some obituary sources) but can usually post a link to the source.
I'm happy to refer you to other Oregon resources as well.

 | Gertrude (Carter) Johnson Evans Ellen:
Many thanks for the transfer. It is much appreciated! Finding her grave represented a big breakthrough for me in my family history research --- I never knew that she had remarried after her first husband's death, and so never thought to search under the surname "Evans." Lacking that crucial piece of information caused me to spend decades searching for her under the wrong name.
Thank goodness for Find A Grave! It has taught me that there is so much more to learn about our long-deceased relatives than I ever imagined possible.
You deserve a special "thanks" for creating the memorial in the first place. Because of your work, I have been "reunited," so to speak, with an ancestor I had come to accept as "lost" forever.

 | Kennon Fretwell Thank you for checking out my photo request. I will try to get more accurate information...off the top of my head, I'm not sure where I got it in the first place...I'll look into his research. I'll let you know more later. | Theodore Finger Thank you for the posting of the photo of Theodore Finger's burial stone at Greenwood Hills. Does anyone take care of the cemetery? Looks like it needs some upkeep. Theodore's father's family settled in Huron County, Michigan and his father left for Alaska to become a steamboat captain. | | | | [View all messages...] |
