Findagrave has been an invaluable resource for my own family research and I am so grateful to all of the volunteers who have contributed to this site. My journey has taken me from my hometown of Lake Wales, Fl. to the frozen tundra of MN by way of AL,TX,CA,and WI. I am following the research of my great-greatgrandmother, Lora S. LaMance, expanding and correcting her data.|

Hi, I transferred Stephen Wildman to you.
|Sharp Swan ||Dr Conant Sawyer|
My name is Sharp Swan and I am doing research on the 118th NY Volunteers, the regiment that Conant Sawyer was unofficially enlisted in a an aide to Capt Livingston. I wasn't sure just how true the story was, but since I have transcribed all of the Capt Livingston's letters available, I decided to go back and see if there was any references to Sawyer. And believe it or not there were quite a few. One said that he could send Sawyer to do a task as he was the only one on the regiment that wasn't enlisted so he was available. That put him in the Regiment
My questions is. Is there anything more to know about Dr Sawyer? Did he leave any letters etc. Photos. Anything that would let you know that he was with the 118th. I haven't checked all of the letters yet, but did he stay with Livingston until he was wounded?
Many thanks for your time,
|Duane Heit||Stephen Wildman|
regarding the Stephen Wildman entry in Find a Grave, Oak Lawn Cemetery, Cresco. I made that entry from cemetery records. I know some deaths in that time period do not have markers. In this case the survivors did not erect a monument for him. Or perhaps at some time it was damaged and removed. I have no evidence of what might be the real case.

I updated using the burial records. She was born in Clarkton, VA as the burial records say she was born in Halifax County. I linked her to her parents as her mother's record was complete.
Her husband is not in Spring Grove to my knowledge.

We do not live in the area, we were passing through and stopped to take request for a cousin. We did not find Minnie's name on the list, sorry. When you do your request, make a note of that so someone else will not delete your request.
|Charlotte McConaha||Re: Minnie Powell Chase|
Minnie P Chase is listed in the Bellevue Interment Register on page 120 or 121. It has her name misspelled, it has Muncie P Chase. It also has a note that that says the first name is difficult to read. Some friends of mine in the Genealogy Society made a book about Boyle County Cemeteries, when they made the book they were able to make out the name as Minnie not Muncie. This information in the register says she died on January 24th 1936 and that she was buried on January 27th 1936. It also says she is buried in Section 3 Lot N1/2 1. Below is the link to the register.
