I've been working on my family history off and on for about 25 years now. I love contributing to this site and doing the genealogical research. I have contributed pictures and info that I have spent the time to research. If you use any of my the pictures or other information I have posted, please let me know or at least be courteous enough to acknowledge me as the source.
"A people that takes no pride in the noble achievements of remote ancestors will never achieve anything worthy to be remembered with pride by remote descendents." – Macauley.
Your tombstone stands among the rest; Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot, And come to visit you.
RE: Polly Calloway 85394638 Thank you for your memo. I can see why you are confused. There may have been a second one that is already taken down. I think in this case, I may have been looking at her husband, Joseph Callaway # 86398331 where there is today a second one under the name of Calloway # 102271009 created by Linda Morris Croy. I am going to send her a message today to see if she will remove hers.
Let me appologise (sp) for the confusion.
For your info, my mother's family is in the direct line with Polly and Joseph Callaway. (Elizabeth Calloway Gray)
Noah Skaggs Hi, and thanks for your earlier message. Sorry I did not reply sooner. You ar correct, Noah's middle name was Francis, not Fitzgerald. I think mom gave all her family history to my brother Mitch. He lives in South Carolina and I'll get his email address to you
Cort Brough According to Find A Grave that request has been taken off. I don't know why it didn't automatically delete when I posted the photo. I never thought to check but I don't think it is there now. Thanks, Carolyn
Fitzpatricks I saw your note for the photo of Nathaniel Fitzpatrick (#128678927) and you mentioned that he is buried in a line with George William F., Nora F., and Annie F., who were all of his children. Did all of his children die as children? Do you happen to know when these three died? I can't find any records for these 3 kids after the census of 1880, except that I did find a record that a George William F. married an Alice Craves in Daviess County, Indiana, in 1898, and wondered if that might be him. I'd appreciate any information you might have. Thanks! -- Julie Linneman
RE: William B. Conner I'm not 100% sure that this is the correct William Conner. Do you happen to have the name of his children and the grandchild listed in the obituary? I believe the grandson mentioned may have been my Dad. He was born in Louisville in 1928. Thanks!
