RE: Willis C. LEWIS Grave
the information I have on the date of burial came from the cemetery. It could be that he was orginaly buried in a family cemetery on family property and then moved or that he was in one of the cemeteries that was moved when they put in the dam. The cemetary's list the date that they were intered in there cemetery and not the date they were buried else were if they were moved. I will see if I can find out more but since it is greenwood and prior to 1963 they do not always have clear records according to them for prior years.

sincerely

Young family photos
Hello Miriam. Thank you so very much for the grave photos and also the correct details--I do appreciate that. The info I had was given to me by a family member and obviously was not quite accurate. Kind regards, Ginger

RE: LEWIS & ALEXANDER Graves
Thank you very much! It's Bertie Elzira Lewis-Alexander. She was married to Elmer Alexander. Elmer is a son of Peter Pine Alexander. I found a paper online that said EE Lewis and WC Lewis are Bertie's parents. I was hoping they were all together in the graveyard to confirm their identities, Bertie is not buried with her husband. Family lore is he left her. She gave birth to many girls, then finally a boy and Elmer took off. I can't blame her for wanting to rest by her mother. Bertie is my great great grandma. Thank you for showing me my family.

Eva Litz and family
Miriam,

I'm researching this part of my shirt-tailed ancestors for my cousin who is a direct ascendant. The only place that I find the 1849 date for Eva Litz Aylesworth is at findagrave. I've checked the 1880 Census, when she was already married to Anson and has a 1854 birthdate for her. I've done some back tracking in the Clarence NY censuses and have found Henry, Elizabeth Eva(Ava)and Adam with all the birthdates closer to the 1854 than the 1849. I've also found an 1857 immigration record for Heinrich, Elisa, Louis Fredrick, Adam, Jacob, and Eva (age 7). Could it be that these records are for Eva Litz Aylesworth and that the birth year is wrong on the tombstone?

My cousin is very interested in finding out more information on the Litz family and this could be the break that we are looking for... I'd appreciate any information or thoughts that you might have on this.

My Ancestry family tree is under izzysmydog1 and it's the Geyer tree. My great uncle Frank, was married to Eva Jane Aylesworth and that is our connection to the family. I can also be reached at izzysmydog@aol.com.

Thanks in advance for any light that you can shine on this...

Question about Greenwood
Just curious if you might no why no one photographs Greenwood Memorial Terrace? There are 135 requests with that many it makes me wonder if its way out of the way the office staff are not helpful or if its something else? My husband and I intend to travel there possibly next summer if there's an issue with it then would be helpful to know ahead of time.

Thank you in advance,

Elsie Lyman Rounds
I think Elsie Lyman Rounds is the same person as Elsie (Elcy) Davis Lyman buried at John Lyman Cemetery in Potter County PA. Both are married to John Lyman (Sr.), my g-g-grandfather. I posted photos of both of the stones with her name (names) on Find-a-Grave. Both wives of John L. are buried there.

First ME Church Burial Ground
Hi,

I noticed that you have added one interment listing to this cemetery:

First Methodist Church Burial Ground
Rockland County
New York, USA

I am researching the Armstrong family in the Stony Point aka North Haverstraw area. Are you close enough to that cemetery to be able to check for any Armstrong graves? I'm in South Carolina so would love the help!

Looking especially for Irish immigrants:
Robert Armstrong, born about 1793, died after 1875
His wife, Jane, born about 1796, died after 1870
They were from County Tyrone and Robert was a farmer and a local preacher associated with the "Methodist Episcopal" or "Methodist Protestant" church.

Thanks SO much for any help locating their graves!
