|Bio and Links|
Each day when I wake up, I thank God for being able to walk through the cemeteries and learn more about those who have gone before me.
There are days I cannot visit the cemeteries and talk to our ancestors. It is in those days I am most grateful for online obituaries and research databases, because they allow me to continue His work and get to know my ancestors.
Genealogy is about Research, Documentation, and Caring …. Where you find information is where you document it, no matter the path we take …. Tis the journey we all walk with love and respect for those who have gone before us.
Death is the Gateway to Heaven and the dwelling place of God and the destination of His children.
One can pray, believe and receive, or we can pray, doubt and do without. I know experience is a hard teacher, the real test is often given first, and the lesson afterward.
God's mercy is without measure.

Prayer for Genealogists
Lord, help me dig into the past
And sift the sands of time
That I might find the roots that made
This family tree of mine.
Lord, help me trace the ancient road
On which my fathers trod
And led them through so many lands
To find our present sod.
Lord, help me find an ancient book
Or dusty manuscript
That's safely hidden now away
In some forgotten crypt.
Lord, let it bridge the gap that haunts
My soul when I can't find
The missing link between some name
That ends the same as mine.
Happy moments, praise God
Difficult moments, seek God
Quiet moments, worship God
Painful moments, trust God
Every moment, thank God
My flesh shall slumber in the ground,
Till the last trumpet's joyful sound;
Then burst the chains with sweet surprise
And in my SAVIOUR'S image rise.
Capt Thomas Tillett
Along the Road
I walked a mile with Pleasure
She chattered all the way;
But left me none the wiser
For all she had to say.
I walked a mile with Sorrow
And ne'er a word said she;
But oh, the things I learned from her
When Sorrow walked with me.
Robert Browning Hamilton
Life should not be just a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming woo hoo what a ride!
My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--
It gives a lovely light !
Never give up! Never surender!
Commander Peter Quincy Taggart
