Native of North Carolina.|
I became interested in family history in May 2010 when my mother's sister passed away. All three sisters had passed within three years! It made me realize that the older generation was leaving and if I wanted to know more about our family, I better start asking questions! I got very interested in family history and discovered that I really enjoy visiting eastern NC cemeteries, taking pictures of headstones, and figuring out who the people were and if/how they were related to me. I focus on Martin County (my dad's family) and Wilson County (my mom's family).
I am a member of the DAR. John Jackson Morgan Sr of Nash County, NC is the first Revolutionary War patriot I have been able to prove my connection to.
This hobby (obsession?) has been a real blessing in many ways. The best part is meeting relatives I never knew I had, and becoming friends with some of the most wonderful people I've ever known.
When contacting me about a memorial or photo I have added, PLEASE INCLUDE THE MEMORIAL NUMBER.

Frances Ward Mumford - her birth is listed here as being North Dakota. Isn't it North Carolina?
I don't know, but seems logical. Thank you for checking.

Deborah S. I went back to Louisa Eatman Thompson and then back to the Eatman's and followed the Trees and Ancestry listings from there. There I found several Trees from James Eatman of Plymouth NC which I followed. There was a Leta (Leyta) Perry born to Lucy Jane Thompson Perry who married a Robert Deans of Wilson, NC. She died ten to fifteens ago and is buried in Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson, NC. You have a Find-A-Grave listing on her. That has answered my question and now I must move on to a new family member. Thanks for your help.

Do you have any personal knowledge of this family? Or is it just a gravestone that you photographed?

Been following each of the Eatman children and have now gotten to Louisa who married John B Thompson. One of Louisa's children, Lucy Jane married an N.H.Perry of Nash Co NC and had ten children. Looking at various Ancestor trees and searches I see that one child, Leyta was left out. She was the first girl born to the Perry's. Did she die at birth? Other have her as Leta Deans. I Searched the Deans of Wilson and Nash Co and found Edgar Deans and a wife Leta. Any connection? The Eatman and Thompson have a lot of children and I am not sure I will ever finish. Thanks

Thank you so much! Those pictures were much clearer. You obviously take pride in your contributions to Find a grave.

You sent me a request three years ago about Mary Lucas, memorial #80705723. You said she was married to Perry Lucas. Is there a memorial for Perry Lucas that I could link to?
|Sheila ||RE: Estelle King|
Thanks, that would be very kind of you. She was my Grandmother's sister.
