I have been interested in genealogy since 1999 and have been fortunate enough to have many kind strangers come forward to help me along the way with pictures, records, dates and other bits of information that I would not have been able to easily obtain otherwise. Being a photo contributor on Find A Grave is just my way of paying that kindness forward. I am in the area of Berrien, VanBuren and Cass counties in Michigan and St. Joseph County, IN and am happy to try and hunt down grave markers/stones in those areas. If I post a photo of a grave marker, feel free to use for your family tree information. No need to ask permission. If I create a memorial of your family member and you would like me to transfer management of it to you (unless the record is a member of my own family), please just request through the edit function. I'd be happy to transfer it over to you. If you have questions or want to suggest corrections, please use the edit function as well and I will see to them as soon as possible.|

I checked the online cemetery records again and there is no Patrick Burns listed who died in 1896. I did find an obituary for him which, if you don't have, I will be glad to email it to you. Unfortunately, it doesn't say where he was buried. I'm going to withdraw my claim to take his photo but if you find anything more about him, let me know. Also let me know if you want the obituary.

Do you have birth and death dates for Patrick Burns? There are some in the cemetery records but not in the same section as his wife. I went to the office to see if he was, perhaps, there but not in the online records. They gave me a printout of who is buried in Section 10, Tier 12 and they are only the people I included in the family plot photo caption. Let me know.

I fulfilled your photo request for William Joseph Burns, Sr. As you will see, buried there is also William J Jr and Anita Duffy Burns for whom I added memorials with photos. I was unable to tell from Ancestry records whether or not Anita is indeed William Jr's mother as an Anna is listed in some censuses. If you know for sure that Anita is his mother, please send an edit request. Thanks.

I got the impression that it was more a matter of finding a family member that had the time to guide you out fairly close to it. This time I didn't call just started out at their moms farm, then found an uncle who was willing to take me back there which was a 2nd farm but on the way there we stopped at the son's farm to check with him. I may go back one more time on a cooler day but i'll probably just call and let them know I'm going back there. A group of men had gone in in August 1999 and throughly cleaned the central portion of the cemetery so it isn't too bad once you get there. Bill

Thanks you so much for having taken the time & effort to build the memorials for my aunt & uncle. I have only recently started looking into the family genealogy & had no idea they were on Find A Grave.
Thanks again - Jim Lovejoy
|EEBJ||Grace Napier Wood transfer|
Thank you for the transfer of Grace Napier Wood's memorial. I felt that the relationships would be difficult for you to edit, since Grace married a Wood, also her father's middle name (Nelson Wood Napier), and then her father adopted her eldest sons whose surnames became Wood Napier, which is the reverse of her surnames. I am grateful that I could connect this family. Am still looking for Grace's 3 other children.
