I just love walking through cemeteries photographing headstones as there are usually so many interesting ones. It's amazing how much information one can get from these headstones, especially the older ones. I believe in immortalizing what we can of these stones for the future and let others know that at one point in time, these people lived. |
As Findagrave states: "The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.
Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree." ~~~~ Please feel free to submit any information that you would like to add to the memorial (stating sources) and I will be happy to add them. ALL connections can be done through the EDIT tab along with any date and birth/death locations.
Please remember to ALWAYS thank the Photo Volunteer for their time in locating your family's grave and taking the photo for you. Many people are becoming very rude in not thanking those who go out of their way to help them and many requests go unfulfilled because of it. Remember we are in this together to help each other and a simple Thank You goes a long way.
Feel free to use the photos of your loved ones resting place for your genealogy research and your personal family tree.
PLEASE, PLEASE SEND ALL CORRECTIONS, ADDITIONS, LINKS, ETC FROM THE EDIT BUTTON (THAT IS WHY IT IS THERE) ON THE MEMORIAL. IT WILL SAVE SO MUCH TIME IN SEARCHING FOR THE CORRECT MEMORIAL AS THE NUMBERS THAT ARE TYPED IN ON EMAILS AND IN THE MESSAGE BOARD ARE NOT ALWAYS GOING TO THE CORRECT MEMORIALS.
Note about the Edit selections: Since this has now made it easier for people to send in changes on dates, names, death and birth locations and links to family, I take it as being correct. If they are not correct, then please send another edit and then email me and let me know where your source is from so I can note this.

|Janet Huseby Stephenson||Father Francis Lynde|
Thank you for trying to take a picture of Father Francis Lynde's stone in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Waukegan. I can't figure out why the cemetery has no record of his burial, since it clearly states in his obituary that he is buried there. More research needed, I guess! I appreciate your time and effort in checking into this for me!

Thank you, I appreciate your help.
|Nancy Hank||Henry and Emma Kamp|
I would appreciate it if you would please transfer Henry Kamp (98175384) and Emma Kamp (98175435) to me for management. Henry and Emma were my great grandparents and I would like to be able to link them to other family members. I appreciate your efforts in volunteering, I volunteer for find a grave in Southern California.
Thank you for the great pictures. I really appreciate it. I didn't think I would get any from that cemetery. Thanks again.
Thank you for the photo of the grave of Robert Grutzius at Montrose Cemetery. It is much appreciated.
