Geo Mauk (Mank)
Father, I believe I've found two of his children, George and Sara Alice. Please review the detail that I've included in the bio at FG mem# 81596742.

Please also review the handwritten burial records that I've extracted and summarized.

Thank you.

Great photo, by the way!

George McCloskey

My record has been deleted, and your record has been linked to the 125th PA Virtual Cemetery.

Thanks for the excellent biographical work on Private McCloskey!

RE: George Mauk 125 PA
Rev L,

I created the following record for this individual in the US Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery:

as George W Mock

One of the genealogical websites, maybe, had a quite detailed record of his widow's pension filing. The spelling used in the pension filing was 'mock.' I realize that 'mock' and 'mauk' are homophones.

At some point in the future, one of the children listed on my record might show up in Findagrave. If and when one does, we'll be able to confirm the spelling.

RE: Simon B @ St Marys
Of course you know, my research makes 'sweeps' through the entire list of 914-ish soldiers for varying purposes and at varying degrees of research 'quality.' In the case of a missing headstone, if I feel a high degree of certainty about a single grave, I will record the GPS coordinates at the center of a single grave. For the year 3014 there will be very few of the 125th left with headstones and the GPS coordinates ALONE will prove.the existence of the Regiment.

In the case of Simon B and his family: if the family plot is a single 'rank' I might record the left and right 'flank markers.' If it's more than one rank (or rectangular) I might record the 4 corners and report:

"The certain location of Simon B's grave is dubious. Based upon concerted genealogical research, Fr/Rev Albert Ledoux considers it 95% probable that Simon B is buried within a within a family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery. Plot consists of X graves in Y shape. GPS coordinates for the four corners are as follows: Most likely grave locations are centered at Coords W and Z."

Thank you.

Patrick Burns
I see that you photograph the St Patrick cemetary in Gallitzin. I am looking for a Patrick Burns there (not any current listed) in Section 2 on right has a G.A.R marker. (I am not sure what a G.A.R marker is, that is just what is listed on the burial card.

Would appreciate it very much if you get a picture while on your travels.

Thank you!

You are good!
Thank you! Just saw how you had figured you the father of Margaret Elsie Hufford (Mrs. Wilson), Find A Grave # 137487281. That was amazing! From what I can determine, that info had been lost for decades and decades. Thank you.
