My goal is to provide accurate up-to-date information for my family members, as well as linking them up, parents, spouse and children listed. However, I have added some very close friends and/or neighbors. If my children or grandchildren one day start to search they will find reliable information on our family.

|Louise Taraba||RE: Shepherd inquiry|
Julie, thanks for your prompt reply to my question concerning the middle name of John Shepherd, Sr.
I am aware of the proper use of "Sr." and "Jr." and also know that quite often there is misuse of the suffixes. However, I have yet to find in any document that the father John or son John was ever given or used the middle name of James. I actually did not see anything in John Jr's memorial that explained my concern. John Sr. had around 10 or 11 children, and one being a James which little seemed to be known about. I suspect that somewhere along the line someone may have decided he was same as John Jr, or something. Hard to tell when the James began to appear as a middle name for John Jr. and as a result one has no idea when or why this got started in trees. Again, this may be one of the many times there is suffix misuse.
Thanks for hearing me out. Louise

Hi Julie...are you familiar with the EFA? If not, let me know and I can give you more information. They meet once a year in Virginia and have been doing so since the 1930's.

|SR0220||RE: barr transfers - thank you SR0220|
Julie, It is my pleasure! Good to know that the memorials are in good hands! Sorry about the delay, as I didn't know about one of them, Sarah Harriet Vessels Barr. I cannot find that she is a direct relative, but I have so little information on my Vessels genealogy. Take care! SR

Going through 2011 e-mails you asked for one (Charles, maybe) but do you want to pick which ones? Not related to the Barrs, that I am aware of and have 26 more of them.

|Joyce Rodger||Thank you.|
I have been trying to trace the Nicholson family in my husband's lineage. I just happened on the info that Gideon Nicholson died with Capt. Turner. In following this I found your information on the Find a Grave memorial for Burdett Eskridge. I knew nothing of this battle or the mass grave in Cloud Creek and was pleased to learn about it. Thank you for making your family history available for others to learn about their own.
|Long Black Veil||RE: James Johnson Eskridge|
I found William K Eskridge' death record after I sent you the message. As far as any messages or info found on Gen Form, roots web or ancestry I never accept this as correct unless they have posted a document or some record. I find so much trash on family trees, or other web sites. Lots of the info is copied from one tree to another, what I call copy cat trees.
I can look up the will of William K Eskridge in KY wills for Harrison Co. When James J Eskridge married he provided the following info, he lived in Harrison Co, KY and was born in Harrison Co. KY. I have added the middle name to James J Eskridge and also linked him to his father.
James J Eskridge' son James J Eskridge Jr, married Martha Barker. Martha' mother was a sister to my gr grandmother who raised my father. Martha' father John H Barker is related to me thru my Lawson family.
Thank you for all your work in sending me this info.
|Long Black Veil||James J Eskridge, Sr|
James was listed as John Eskridge on West Virginia death records.
|Long Black Veil||James J Eskridge|
Do you have any proof James J Eskrige Sr., middle name was Johnson??? Just because his mother' surname may have been Johnson, does not mean James' middle name was Johnson. I have saw to many family trees or family history book where someone assume what a middle name might be, later to find out this info was incorrect. I am looking for some document/record showing James' middle name as Johnson.
Thank you and many blessing
|Long Black Veil||James J Eskridge Sr|
You ask that I link James J Eskridge Sr to his father. Are you sure William K Eskridge is the father of James J and are you sure William K Eskrige is buried in this cemetery and the dates of his birth and death or correct???? How did you come by this info, I did not see a photo of William K Eskridge' stone.
Thank you for all the work you do on find a grave, which helps many others.
|Geraldine Barnett||Yes you can|
Julie, on right side of Elliott or anyone's home site) is Search Contributor's Record. Just type in WILSON and the 56 will show you who and where they are located. If there are too many, it won't do it but 56 is not a large number. Try that please. Let me know if they are all yours or just some. geraldine
