Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was named for a (distant) relative, Jessie Ohl Darrow of Ohio (first wife of Clarence Darrow). My grandmother, Jessie Darrow Davis of Pennsylvania, highly disapproved of Clarence.

I have been tracing my family tree since 1980 and am currently researching my Affelder and Zugsmith relatives, with a focus on Germany, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New York. As a sideline, I try to input memorials for Jewish cemeteries and individuals in Chicago and elsewhere.

My Findagrave image is a photo of my father's headstone in Chesterton, Indiana. He was a radio engineer, a telegrapher and ham radio enthusiast. The face on the memorial bears a slight resemblance to him, but the gargoyle figure and pyramid topper are both a whimsy of the talented sculptor who created the monument.

When asking for corrections or transfers, please request thru the memorial link. When requesting a transfer, your FAG number would be appreciated. Give me a few days to a month to comply or reply.

Caroline Weinhaus request
Greetings Jessie,
I walked the West View Cemetery looking for Caroline and all I could come up with is: Caroline Weinhaus 1840 - 1886 (Mother), and Carrie Weinhaus 1849-1920 (Aunt). Could either of these people be who you are looking for? I have pictures of both and will hold them awhile. Hope to hear from you.
Regards
Mel

Anna S Good Fulton FAG73692450
On Jul 21, 2011 you added Find A Grave Memorial# 73692450 and indicated in the text that Anna S. "Annie" Good Fulton was the daughter of Josiah Jessie Good. I am interested in exactly what information you had in 2011 that would have indicated this relationship. The reason for asking is that Anna's death certificate from 1935 indicates her father as Jessie Good and her mother as Mary Caldwell. My family research indicates that Josiah Jessie Good was married to a Sarah Ann Caldwell (not Mary)and no US Census that I have seen lists Anna S. as a child of Josiah Jessie Good a with wife of Mary or Sarah Ann. My research also indicates that Josiah Jessie Good probably died in 1865 and Sarah Ann Caldwell Good probably died in 1864 which would have left Anna S. Good Fulton an orphan. Any proof that you might have to show Anna S."Annie" Good Fulton was the daughter of Josiah Jessie Good would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried the add-on AdBlock Plus? Huge difference on here.
I am absolutely intrigued by your father's tombstone. It's one of the coolest ones I have ever seen. Especially love the feet and realistic arms and hands. It is somewhat like a composite of various markers I have seen in the La Recoleta cemetery in Buenos Aires. It would actually fit right in there - although it is unique enough to be different among the other unique statues there.

Rosina Florance David
The old Occident obituary misspelled the surname "Florance." It is spelled with an "a" - not the "e" in the obituary. The Florance family are my family's ancestors.

Orpha case butterfield
There is an Orpha Case buried in Hancock Cemetery, Hancock, Ma. which is not far from Stephentown. There is no information about her in the Stephentown Historical Society other than this record. But this may be where she is.

RE: Zork Calisher Krakauer photos
You are very welcome. It actually wasn't that hard of work though. I was there for the unveiling of my grandfather's headstone. After the service, one of the workers took me around to all the photo request headstones. I filled all nine out in about 15 minutes. It's nice when it's easy, and I'm always happy to help.

RE: Ainsworth photos
It is mostly older graves, many down and broken, but the area is mowed and there are flags put up for the Veterans. I suspect that the broken pieces in the picture are for William's stone as the design matches the other two. Lucy's is very hard to read, but my husband and I were able to find the LU and the Y and the date matches. Glad I could do that for you. I try to take stones that have fallen over, children who fall between the census years, and we often uncover carefully those that have gotten growth over them and clean with water.
