Bio and Links
Bio Photo I developed taphophilia in Nov 2007. I'm adding what I can, photos and accurate transcriptions, because stones deteriorate and there's no better time than now.

On a philosophical note: I believe that an unmarried woman's surname should never be listed in the "maiden name" field, and a divorced woman who returned to her maiden name should also have that name as her surname.

Michael Moore
"unknown" surnames
Hi Chris:

Thanks for catching and correcting my error when I entered the three stones for infants who did not have a surname.

RE: Elizabeth Shirk
Warren first married Elizabeth Davis and had three children. After Elizabeth died, he married Mary Van Pelt; sometime after June 9, 1959, when Mary made a life claim to Social Security.

Rodrigo
Thank you Chris. I thought I saw the page enter and I looked but could not find the memorial. I can't access the listing of just my memorials anymore because I have too many.
Please tell me how you located it.
The Main Search engine requires a last name and the Manila cemetery search just kept spinning when I entered Rodrigo.

Chris,

I don't know how you caught that, but thanks. I don't generally make that mistake.

RE: Walls Family Cemetery
Chris, I have been trying to get this corrected for over two years. I will try again. If i can't get them to do it, I will drive down there and update the gps coordinates for the location.

Mary Ames
I grant you it could be "Ames" but I believe I detect a capital Y where the S should be. The problem is, no families named Ames or Amey lived in Blair County, PA, in the 1900 census - at least not families headed by people with the initials on the stone. So, until somebody can identify her parents, I think I'll be leaving the last name blank.

RE: Borschiw Cemetery - new records for John and for Katherine Plishka - unmarked graves
Hello Chris
Thanks for the offer of the transfers.
At the moment I'm fine with you retaining the sites since you established them.

They are now part of my virtual cemetery and once the edits I sent in are in place they will be linked to family. I was merely surprised to see John and Katherine's names appear after all this time. I don't live in Alberta now and don't have much chance to follow up offline leads which is what I need to obtain more obscure details.

Regards,
Carol
