"When I go to a cemetery, I don't just see tombstones. I see families there. I see history there. I see much more than just a stone..."|
I've been working on genealogy for about 10 years now. I stumbled upon this site and so impressed with the idea that I decided to volunteer and add graves as I ran across them. It saddens me to see the state of some of the graveyards I've visited, but I feel like I'm helping save part of history by photographing the stones that are still there. If I can be of any help just let me know.
"Genealogy is the art of collecting tidbits of the lives of those who came before us. And a genealogist sorts, organizes and nurtures this info for the purpose of paying it forward to a future generation's hands. The bucket is in our hands now, for a moment it's "ours", but the rest of the brigade is waiting for that pail of water to be passed to the next soul." Gerblady
if you would like a transfer of a memorial, please use the "edit" button on the memorial and state your relationship. I will gladly transfer memorials within 4 direct generations. Others I will be happy to consider. :-)

Why do you post memorials before the deaths? You have posted Meridith & Leona Skiles in the Old German Baptist Cemetery near Rossville IN & they are both alive & healthy.

I'm researching my brother-in-laws family and Clay's 1940 census looks interesting. I think that Marie, Clay's wife, is my brother-in-laws mother. Her first marriage was to Orville Stant and the kids names, dates are the same. Do you know antyhing about this?
