Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired Firefighter. Served four years with the U S Navy, 12 years with the Air National Guard.
I like finding old cemeteries. Small cemeteries I take pictures of all marked graves.
Most of the memorials I have posted are not related to me. If you see a family member, let me know and I will transfer them to you.
Anyone may use the pictures I take for there family tree.

Great. Do you know who owns that property now?

Hargraves
Thank you for finding James R. Hargraves and his son headstones. I wasn't sure if they had one. Thank you for serving our county and keeping all safe at home. The picture of my great great grandfather makes it seem so final.

I thank you so very much for the three wonderful photos that you took of the Wilkinson family! Both cemeteries are out of the way, and I especially am appreciative of your traveling there & taking the great photos.

I have an open photo request at each cemetery. Does that mean that you could not find the markers of Shelby Withrow at the Asbury Cemetery and John Beckner at Hein Cemetery? Please do not return just for those photos. But if you searched & couldn't find them, I'll remove my requests.

Thank you greatly for all the wonderful photos that you've taken in the small cemeteries where other photographers do not visit. Jean

Yes, sounds very familiar. You don't see the stones until you climb the hill.
Blessings,
Pam

RE: Hein Cemetery in Putnam Co., WV
Hi,
I am not at home where my notes are -- it was about 15 years ago. It is in Poca on the property that once belonged to Emma Hein (deceased 2006). I remember going through Poca and turning right on a road just past the school and over the Pocatalico River....oh dear, too long ago -- looking at Google Maps, I'm wondering if it was Rd 27 -- seems like it was up that road and on the left. I wonder if someone near there would be able to tell you. The cemetery was on a hill in front of & to the right of the house (in other words, her house set back a ways). Fenced in at that time, "new" and very old stones there. I was looking for Dorothea Schmude; I found her husband's tall stone, but not hers (probably was an illegible field stone). I wonder if Emma is there (Emma Sigmon Hein).
Sorry I cannot be more helpful right now.
