"Freedom is not Free"|
I am honored to create memorials for our WW2, Korea, and Vietnam war dead.
Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz:
"They fought together as brothers in arms; they died together and now they sleep side by side...To them, we have a solemn obligation — the obligation to ensure that their sacrifice will help make this a better and safer world in which to live."
I have recently completed a five year project traveling to Hawaii annually from the mainland to photograph headstones for all of our WW2 dead at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) in Honolulu. I have added over 10,000 photos to memorials at the cemetery. Prior to 2008, few of the memorials had headstone photos added and I made it a commitment to travel their annually to finish this project which I completed in 2013.

Thanks. I'll take credit for the cropping & captions, but the quality was all camera.
Also, I found a side line of my family tree while at the cemetery. My nephew's wife's great-grandparents. Just a bone that was thrown my way...
|Ronnie||permission to use|
Hello again Jeff,
I would like permission also to use the image of the Application for Headstone in my book. This is one type of document that I do not have a copy of.

|Ronnie||permission to use information|
I am working on a book in conjunction with the local historical society honoring servicemen and women of World War Two from Clay County, West Virginia where I live. The book is mainly for research as to who served, where they served, and a few other service related details. The readers can then take it further having the book as a starting point.
Since the memories of the long fallen are quickly fading I am especially interested in all data I can get for our MIA/KIA's.
PFC Cletis Orval Moore is from Clay County and was KIA at Iwo Jima. Here on findagrave.com is a picture of an application for a headstone. I understand that this information is public domain, but I want to be sure because I am going to cite this website. All hard work deserves credit.
Thank you in advance,

I am volunteering with a Dutch non-profit group which is assembling a database of our veterans buried in US cemeteries in Belgium and Holland. This site (http://www.fieldsofhonor-database.com/) is searching for information and photos of these men.
As you may know, many of these WWII veterans who are buried in Europe, have been adopted by local families. I've met a few of these adopters and find they treat our fallen (or MIA) veterans with respect and dignity. These people are grateful to the men who liberated their country and want them to be remembered.
Like you, I am trying to help this WWII recognition group when I noticed you posted a picture of PFC Ernest L Barnes and wanted to ask permission to use the photo. Is that possible, please? If so, would you like credit for the photo?
Since you have done a great deal of work to capture pictures of the headstones etc if I find others you've done would you grant the same permission?

Thank you so much. I was stationed in Hawaii in the 1970 and would love to go back.

Would you consider transferring Oran Wayne Blankenship's memorial Find A Grave Memorial# 105625987, page to me, Roger Strain (#46889190).
His wife is my 1st cousin and I would like to add information to his memorial. I have the history of where he died and what happened.
Thank you in advance.
