Bio Photo "Freedom is not Free"

I am honored to create memorials for our WW2, Korean, and Vietnam war dead.

I am presently working on creating virtual cemeteries for every US WWII Infantry Division. To my knowledge I am the only contributor to Find A Grave undertaking such a project.

Korean War US Navy Battle Casualties: 657
Korean War US Air Force Battle Casualties: 4,509

Vietnam War US Army Battle Casualties: 38,224
Vietnam War US Marine Corps Battle Casualties: 14,844
Vietnam War US Navy Battle Casualties: 2,566
Vietnam War US Air Force Battle Casualties: 2,586

Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz:
"They fought together as brothers in arms; they died together and now they sleep side by side...To them, we have a solemn obligation the obligation to ensure that their sacrifice will help make this a better and safer world in which to live."

In 2013 I completed a five year project traveling to Hawaii annually from the mainland to photograph headstones for all of our WW2 dead at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) in Honolulu. I have added over 10,000 photos to memorials at the cemetery. Prior to 2008, few of the memorials had a headstone photo.

Alvah Austin Threet, JR
Thank you for the work you are doing. Alvah Austin Threet, JR died before I was born in the same year. I did not know until I saw his family burial plot in Florence that he had died on D-Day. He is buried next to my Aunt and Uncle, Mae (Threet) and Clyde Barkley, but in the burial plot with his parents. He was 19, I think. The work you do is difficult and if a mistake is made here and there, by any of us, we all know it was not intentional.

Again, thank you for the work you do. I am glad that the people who own the memorial would allow you to add this information, since they won't transfer memorials nor have they responded to my requests to update my grandparent's memorials (John Franklin Threet and Ada Wesson Threet), Alva Sr's brother. Find a Grave merged the two memorials (mine and theirs), giving one to me and one to them, but my mother's name is still not listed as their child and I do not know how to add siblings. I'm very new at this. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for the work you do.

You have my Uncle grave posted
Can you tell me why you post killed in North Africa?
I am thinking he was killed at Gela sicily when Patton landed there in operation Husky in Jul 1943

We reinterred John in 1949 at St Peter and Pauls

His Broher Sam served in WWII as combat first Sgt and became totally disabled in Korea

RE: Veteran Memorials
Thank you for your kind words and your feedback on Unit histories. That definitely makes sense if you know where a particular unit was on a given date. Should definitely help with the KIA location.

I'm also a history buff so the virtual cemeteries you have created so far is nothing short of amazing. I'm certainly glad we have someone like you out there that is taking the time to not only research but also post your findings. I believe no Veteran should be lost or forgotten. I do feel you are doing a magnificent job seeing that our Veterans are not forgotten.

It is great talking to you. Take care.

Hi Jeff
I have a lot of information on Henry and photo of him if you are interested. He was killed in a Brewster Buffalo aircraft on Mt. Stanley Victoria Australia. I am meeting his family next week.
