PLEASE CHECK YOUR EDITS TAB FREQUENTLY!|
Keeping and maintaining our relatives.
Redistributing the other memorials to someone we know will take care of them and isn't interested in collecting dead people like normal people collect friends.
NOTE: If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to be a manager, please make arrangements to transfer your memorials to someone who is active and cares about the accuracy of the information. This really will help reduce duplicates, which we notice with increasing frequency.
If you place memorials and don't come back, or you refuse or neglect to fix them, link them, etc., they are as abandoned as many of the graves we encounter in cemeteries, only you have now abandoned these people twice.
It would also be a good idea to leave a family member or friend instructions on how to make transfers of your memorials in the event of your own untimely death.
In addition, it's not up to you to make new FAG rules regarding anything.
(Borrowed from another active FAG Contributor)
"Ancestors are nice to have
We could hardly do without them
And if they made the page of fame
We strut and boast about them.
But there are those who think that souls
Who have lived out life's brief span
Still hang around their earth's abode
To watch the works of man.
So when I think of ancestors
Who have crossed the Great Divide
I wonder if they view my life
With the same exultant pride."

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
Mary Elizabeth Frye, 1932.

|Ted K||RE: newspapers|
Hi Kevin, Sorry you're less than well, hope you'll recover in good time. I reached retirement age, and have a few issues to deal with about that, financial and otherwise. Re: newspapers, originally I was paying less than $100 a year, but they snuck the price up so it's now $100 every six months. I didn't renew because I don't use it enough - I am now working with a lot of death certificates, which I get at the library, sending lots of edits and improving other peoples work. I stopped even looking at "current" obituaries, because certain people are putting them on half-assed before the bodies are cold, so I give up on that score. It's a relief not dealing with that nonsense anymore. Hope it's soon that you'll get better....Cousin Ted

The transfer has been made. I'm sorry to hear that you have some serious health problems. When the operation is over and you are back to work, let me know and I will stop in for a short visit.

If you are interested in Louise's family, I have lots of info.

If you knew this person and wish for a transfer, I will do it. I'm getting along OK for the average person my age. Thanks for asking.
|Deana Carlson||Samuel Brown and Diantha Foster|
Are you related to Samuel and Diantha?
|John K. Pierson||Contact info?|
I looked all over the Find A Grave site and can't find out how to contact the administrators of Find a Grave directly. Info@findagrave.com doesn't look like the way to go. Do you have the address or link?
|carolyn harbaugh||RE: mary grove additions|
Unfortunately I didn't keep the source -- only the obit. Sorry.
|Deana Carlson||Samuel Brown parent links|
Hi, I just saw the parent links you sent and added them. Thank you. Samuel and Huldah are my 5th great grandparents.
|John K. Pierson||Maria Brown Richardson|
I made memorial 76296128 for her in Tidioute Cemetery. Someone had the links added to the parents shown there. Now I get a request to change the father to Peter Brown 39338734 in Sutton Hill Cemetery and the mother to "Unknown". You have a lot of research tools available. Do you think I should make the change, or leave as is? Thanks for your time on this one.
|Anne Shurtleff Stevens||Thank you|
for your profile. Well said.
