OK...guess it really doesn't matter either way then! I was up there week before last cleaning off the graves of relatives and others. Trees have fallen and broken a lot of the headstones from the severe storms recently. I live in TN and cannot work on cleaning up the place. An elderly man in the area is doing his best.
Name Correction. Francis Scott
Birth of Matilda Hendricks was April 25th

I finally found my great great grandfather Wesley McDowell Burnside! I've been looking for him since I've been a member of findagrave. He is in the WV 7th CAV and he is located in the Massey Cemetery in Rock Creek Raleigh County. His ID# is 136185500. I thought you might want to add him to your virtual cemetery.

I found another Civil War soldier from the 7th if you want to add him to your virtual cemetery. He is in the Dameron Cemetery on Lucas Hill Rd. His name is Jacob Jackson. I ran into the marker this spring.

Thank you for sharing your information, Lee. I am more confused now than ever! I looked up Melvin's death certificate, and you are absolutely correct that it lists Ivison's birthplace as Tenn. The informant on the death certificate is J.E. Brown. That was James E. Brown, my GGG-Grandmother, Roxie Browning's second husband. According to Roxie's death certificate her father, Ivison, was born in WV. The informant is her son from her first marriage to my GGG-Grandfather John Woodrum, Cecil Woodrum. I am wondering now who actually commissioned the headstone. I know in the 1900 Census Ivison was living with his daughter, Ethereal/Ethell Browning Cooper's family, and much of the Cooper family is also buried in the same cemetery. I have yet to find him in the 1910 Census, though I did find Ethereal and her family. There is a death record in Cabin Creek, Kanawha, WV for Isaac Browning, but the name could also be read as Ivison. It puts his death on 21 Nov 1911 at age 74 of paralysis, and the informant is listed as daughter. He is also a widower. I realize this doesn't jibe with the date on the headstone, though, so I'm apt to throw it out of the ring as the correct death register. I can't thank you enough for your contributions to Find A Grave, Lee! I am looking forward to digging into Ivison's roots as thoroughly and accurately as possible, and that headstone image is a brand new starting point for me. Thanks again for your time!

Hello, Lee! Concerning Ivison Browning, I was wondering where you got the birth information of Tennessee. He is my Fourth Great-Grandfather, and I believe I have him as being born in Logan county. I'd love to hear your input, and I will gather up the information I have on him to share with you. Merry Christmas, and God Bless!

How could I get my Great Great Grandfathers grave site added to your list for The 7th West Virginia Calvary ?
