Bio and Links
Bio Photo Ever since I was a small kid, I've always been interested in my ancestors. I'm sure I drove the older members of my family nuts by always asking who was married to whom and who their kids were.
As an adult I've traced my lineage back four to seven generations and still enjoy working on filling in the blanks.
I also love to roam around in cemeteries and look for odd and different headstones. I have a scrapbook of photos of these stones that I started years ago and still add to it every chance I get.
My favorite is a stone that I found in a local cemetery in Bentonville, Arkansas... it's a man's headstone and carved by the monument company is this phrase, "I told you I was sick". I literally had to walk up to the stone and touch it to believe it was really there.
I first started using find-a-grave to look up famous people's gravestones, such as Bruce and Brandon Lee, those have to be two of my favorites, they are beautiful.
I finally, just in the last couple of weeks started working on adding information on the cemeteries where I have relatives buried. It's a great way to save and share information.
If you would like to either correct or add to a bio, or contribute any information regarding any memorial I have placed, please feel free to contact me. I welcome all information. Or I'll be more than happy to transfer any memorial page to friends or family. Please put "Find A Grave" in the subject field. Thank you!

If you have a minute please visit daddy and mommie's memorial pages. Joe W. Vaughn., Rhoda V. Vaughn.
and for my gramps, he was/is my special human. Will Vaughn.
...and for all of my FAG friends out there, I want to thank you for all the flowers left on my loved ones pages and all the sponsorships.
Only a member of this awesome family here on Find a Grave could know how much all of this is appreciated! :)

This is a link to some great pics of some of the military elite & medal of honor recipients buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

This link will take you to the official Arlington Cemetery site.

I also contribute to a site that focuses on just gravestone in Arkansas. There are so many older cemeteries and the stones are fast fading away. If you have pics of any stones from a cemetery in Arkansas feel free to enter the stone and or the cemetery. It's a relatively new site so everyone with Arkansas gravestones is welcome, the more the merrier! Here is the link.

Enjoy! Bev :)

I just added the dog that 'owned' me for a few blessed years, visit my beloved boy if you get a chance, Sandy Myers.

THE STONE SEEKER

Wandering among the stones I see
The stones so weathered and worn
‘Tis difficult to find the date
On which the babe was born

I stare at the stone and am struck with awe
At the life that I knew was gone
This was someone's child, a babe so sweet
With loved ones to carry on

So I take a photo for all to see
For the family that remains
An everlasting memory of
A child of God's domain

I brush the weeds back from the stone
And say a silent prayer
For the babes that had no chance to live
And for mothers everywhere

The dove calls out it's mourning song
Among the stones so still
Echoes of the woes, through time
The choirs of despair

The stone will someday perish
The flowers will be gone
But a photo now remains of this
Their memory lives on!

And so my friend, don't hesitate
To film the weathered stone
Those who live within your hearts
Are never truly gone

William Joseph Youngblood
I have a question -- What do you have for William Joseph Youngblood's parents? I have a death date for William J. Youngblood as June 21, 1889 Eureka Springs Arkansas but if this is correct, Martha Jane Loftis & William J. Youngblood must have divorced because Martha goes on and marries for the 2nd time to John Wesley Garrison in 1875. She marries a 3rd time to Wm H.D. Thomas.
Thanks, Shirley :)

Hey, Cousin!! Yes, I am related through Wm Joseph Youngblood's mother Martha Jane (Loftis). She is my direct ancestor. This is my mother's side of the family - the Conners. The only picture I have of Wm & Julie is the B&W photo from Ancestry.
Thanks, Shirley :)

RE: Sarah Self
Hello, and thank you for your message. I don't have the burial information for Nathan Self or his wife Sarah. Yes, I have a Self connection, Nathan is my 2nd grt grandfather on my mother's side. His daughter Sarah Angeline Self was my 1st grt grandmother, she married John Ambrose Shropshire, their son: Opie Elmer Shropshire was my grandfather. I didn't know any of them except my grandfather Opie. As I live in California I've not been able to visit the cemetery where Sarah Angeline (Self) Shropshire and John Ambrose Shropshire are buried, the Carpenter Family Cem., but I understand it has been cleaned up and a marker placed for Sarah by the Carpenter family members, which I really appreciate. I would like o learn more about Nathan and Sarah.

RE: Update on Thomas Family
Sorry I could not access your e-mail. Andrew & Vincent were brothers and they married spiveys sisters Andrew married the younger one and vincent married the older one. Their mother was Elizabeth sometimes called "Betsey" who came with the boys and girls to Arkansas. Records show she married John Ira Wilson in Kentucky and I have copy of license. They had another son after andrew & Vincent. His name was Arnold. There is about 30 or so folks buried on Thomas creek and Elizabth and Arnold are buried down there. Also there is a marker for John Ira but don't know if he is buried there because in 1850 Kentucky census she reported being a widow. My father always said he didn't have cousins but double cousins. Three weeks ago I went to Patterson Springs declaration and met a lot of kinfolks and gained more history. I have traced thomas' back to Wales. My email address: drejt29@yahoo.com

Update on Thomas Family
Hello Beverly, my name is Donald Thomas, my great, great grandpa was Andrew Jackson Thomas, his wife was Martha "Spivey". Her sister was Sally "Spivey" who married Vincent Thomas brother to Andrew. Their mother was Elizabeth "Wilson" Thomas who later married John Ira Wilson in Kentucky. Her other son was Arnold Thomas buried on Thomas Creek Cemetery as was she. My linage goes from Arthur, to Luther, to Sidney, to Andrew, to Elizabeth daughter of Marchant Thomas, to Abraham, to Michael, to John Jr., to John, to William who came over from Wales.
