I am an artist currently undergoing a series of commissions for a client depicting uniforms and characters of The Royal Irish Rifles and its earlier composite Regiments, the 83rd and 86th Foot.
The latest that I am working on is to show your ancestor in full uniform of the 86th Regiment following the action at Jhansi Fort in India where he won the VC.
I have been supplied a photo showing him wearing the medal, in civilian clothes.
In the course of doing further research on the event I came across your entry on Find a Grave and wondered whether you had this photo and if not would like to see it, or indeed had any other photos or information which may assist me in presenting an accurate picture of him.
