Bio

I have been researching since 1992. Geraldine McKinnie Weir (1932-2002), my father's cousin, taught me so much about genealogy. I really miss my dear cousin and friend Geraldine. In 1994, Geraldine helped me become a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. I now have 19 DAR ancestors, and I established four new patriots for DAR. My DAR ancestors are John Cole, Jesse Cook, John Garrard, William Barron, John Barron, 2nd Lt. Miles H Gathright, Ensign Walter Poole, Major Croom, Zaddock Bussey, George Bussey, Charles Bussey, Josiah Norris, James Patrick, Daniel Turner, Joseph Davenport, James Collins, Ann Hurst Floyd, John Hurst and Captain James Green.

In 1993, Geraldine found our Mayflower ancestors Stephen Hopkins and Giles Hopkins. Stephen Hopkins was a Signer of the Mayflower Compact. Stephen Hopkins was also to Jamestown, Virginia before his voyage on the Mayflower in 1620. On the voyage to Jamestown, he was shipwrecked in Bermuda with John Rolfe. In 1999, I became a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. I also joined the Jamestowne Society. I am a member of nine lineage societies. My ancestor for United States Daughters of 1812 is James Norris. Lt. William Smithson is my ancestor for Dames of the Court of Honor. I am also a member of Daughters of the American Colonists, CSDIW, Arkansas Pioneers Association and Colonial Dames XVII Century.

I have 20 approved ancestors for Colonial Dames XVII Century. These ancestors are Edward Bangs (MA), Augustine Bearse (MA), George Bussey I (MD), George Bussey II (MD), Josiah Cooke I (MA), Josiah Cooke II (MA), Richard Cooke (MA), Rebecca Briggs Cornell (RI), Thomas Cornell (RI), John Doane I (MA), John Doane II (MA), Samuel Doane (MA), Farnefold Green (NC), James Hamblen I (MA), John Hamblen (MA), Giles Hopkins (MA), Stephen Hopkins (MA), Thomas Kent (RI), Mary Durant Ring (MA) and Gabriel Wheldon (MA).

I am also very interested in German genealogy. I have ordered a lot of microfilms of actual church records at the Family History Center. The Germans kept great records. I have all of my German families back to the 1600's and 1700's with some of the lines going back to the 1400's and 1500's.

I am on FIND A GRAVE because I want to help others with their research. I also want to link my ancestors with their children.
