|Please take note that any pictures taken as a request by myself will be used for my ancestry.com familytree. I started to really get into genealogy in about 2010. I utilize this as well as other websites. If I take a photo for you, you may do as you like with it. |
I enjoy helping others with their genealogy and I have a lot of info especially for the Westchester, NY area.
I will be happy to transfer anyone to you that is not near and dear to my heart. Please tell me your relationship and if you are closer to the person that I am, I will transfer them to you. I have recently added veterans from Westchester, NY that are buried in Yonkers. Most of them are not related to me. In addition. most of the people that I have added photos and other info for in North Carolina, are also not related to me and I would be glad to transfer them.
Also, if you do not hear from me please right away, please resend your message in a few weeks. Like anyone else, I go through busy periods.
I have just found out that I need a person's contributer ID in order to transfer a person to them. Please include it with any messages for transfer that you send me.
"THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust."

|Bryan Healy||Religious Names|
Hi - I got clarification from Find-a-Grave. Religious names for the sisters are supposed to go in the bio field, not in the nickname field. FYI
|P Arruda||RE: Mildred Cochrane obituary|
Thanks so much for her obituary. I searched and searched and searched for it, but could not find it! You seem to have a good source for obits, do you mind if I ask what it is?

|P Arruda||Landy family|
I see you are doing quite a bit of research in regard to the Landy family. I am looking to locate burial information for another Landy sister.
Mildred Landy Cochrane (30 May 1915 - 8 October 1973) It is likely that she is buried in Pennsylvania. Her husband was William Cochrane (7 Sep 1912 - 27 May 2010) and lived in Huntingdon Valley, PA.
If you come across this, please let me know.

The obituaries that the Sisters of Charity post on their website - scny.org. They are much more detailed than any in the newspapers.
|Connie Clark||RE: Nellie Harms|
You are very welcome. I think she has 2 stones , beside her is a Nellie with who I believe is her first husband. Harms is her second I think. I put in an edit for the dates to be added to the photo you requested. Best Wishes, Connie and Wayne
Just saw you transferred this memorial. Thank you!
|Debra Scott||Leora G. Deane|
Thank you for transferring Leora's Memorial to me.
These 2 are the same,
But mine has the photos of the grave.
Can you add my photos, or delete yours?
|Gale Olsson McHale||RE: McArdle|
You are most welcome for both the photos and obit!
Thank you for the transfer of Robert Lee.
