Please take note that any pictures taken as a request by myself will be used for my ancestry.com familytree. I started to really get into genealogy in about 2010. I utilize this as well as other websites. If I take a photo for you, you may do as you like with it.

I will be happy to transfer anyone to you that is not near and dear to my heart. Please tell me your relationship and if you are closer to the person that I am, I will transfer them to you. I have recently added veterans from Westchester, NY that are buried in Yonkers. Most of them are not related to me

Also, if you do not hear from me please right away, please resend your message in a few weeks. Like anyone else, I go through busy periods.

I have just found out that I need a person's contributer ID in order to transfer a person to them. Please include it with any messages for transfer that you send me.

"THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust."

Updates
Hi! Thanks so much for sending all the updates to the memorials that I've photographed and entered!!! Keep them coming! I wanted to touch base and see if you are related to any of them at all? I'm not related to most of my memorials and would love to transfer them to a family member to maintain. I'll transfer even beyond the 4 generation guidelines… so just let me know should any that I've created be in your family lines.. I'll send them your way if you like! Thanks for all your hard work on Find A Grave.. you are leaving a legacy for those to follow! Take care and have a wonderful holiday season! Blessings, Dana Garrow

RE: Maj Arthur Morris
No connection to him or Alaska. But I know the other US Army commanders of Alaska have pages on Find a Grave, and was curious if this person had one too. It seems my question was answered.

RE: Arthur Morris
Thanks for the reply. It sure is the same person I was talking about. BTW, brevet promotions were honorary promotions to higher rank, but without the authority or pay of that rank.

Previous message (Arthur Morris)
I meant to say not entirely sure (my mistake).

Arthur Morris 89262625
I'm entirely sure, but this man might be the last US Army commander of the Alaska Military District. He has the same date of death as the Captain Arthur Morris I was looking for.

Moses A Craft.
Hi there - I just received an email stating you have fulfilled a photo request for me for Moses A Craft at Saint John's cemetery at Yonkers.
You have added a document, and not a memorial, and used the memorial icon.
Could you please correct so that I can re request the memorial photograph. - Thanks, Bob.

Orazio Cattuti
Hi - you sent me an edit for Orazio Cattuti in the Assumption Cemetery today with updated information on his birthday where you say that his birthday is a year earlier than what is carved on the headstone.

Before I make the change, I would like to ask how you know that it's different (from the headstone)?

Thanks,
Rich

Dates on memorials
I received several messages re changing dates -- adding months, day, etc. Could you please tell me where you got this information before I accept the information. Thanks.

RE: Burnett
You are welcome and please do use the photo for your personal use. I believe it belongs more to you than me.
