I am retired and live in the Texas Panhandle. I have been putting bio's and flowers on memorials for over six years, and when I couldn't find my grandparents, I decided I would add Memorials and put a voice to my families, I don't want them to be forgotten.|
This is a picture of my parents, they were Helen Elaine Lott and Steve William Lanning, they were born in 1918.

My husband's great-grandfather is Samuel Wallace Elbert. Garlond, his son, was his grandfather although my husband never knew him. I'm trying to help him do research on his family. Can you advise me of a good place to begin my search of the Elberts?

Nice to meet you! A cousin of mine is a Lott, her father was Paul Ray Lott Sr and mom Trilby Moore

You have my permission to use her photo any way you like. I'm not sure where I even got it from.

Donna, Thank you for your nice note about Angeline. I did not have her in my family data, but I have since added her info. I have not found another memorial for her. Her daughter, Emmagene, was married to my husband's great uncle, Franklin Nowell Hatch, so my line did not go farther than Emmagene at that time.
I have added a photo of Angeline that I found online.
I hope that is OK with you. If not, let me know and I will gladly delete it.

On his memorial number 53839417, you have been very thorough in listing all of his children. It makes me wonder if you might be related. I have created an Anderson family tree that he is in so maybe you should be in it also. Let me know. You have approximately 1800 relatives (including myself) in it. Ralph Franks

Well, sometimes it takes all of us working together a little bit, but we get it done and done right, don't we. Thanks for all your help.

Donna, you asked me to insert Oklahoma City as Phillip Ray's place of birth, but here's the problem. His parents lived in Texas in 1900, and they lived in Texas in 1910, and Phillip Ray was born in 1908. At some point between 1900 and 1910, they apparently lived in Oklahoma for awhile, but we do not know for how long. The 1910 census shows that Chester, Trixie, and George were born in Oklahoma and that Phillip was born in Texas. The 1920 Census says that Phillip was born in Oklahoma. I find other things that indicate that Phillip was born in Texas and other things that say Oklahoma, and I don't want to lose credibility by putting down incorrect information. Do you have personal knowledge of his birthplace or shall we leave it blank?

I am curious to know if you know who placed her headstone in the Goose Creek cemetery. It is my family's (Hulme) cemetery plot that she is buried in, and I know that it is because when she died she was living with her daughter who married a Hulme. However, the headstone that is there doesn't look like it has been there since her death...it looks newer. I only ask because the cemetery has been vandalized and headstones smashed and thrown about and I was wondering if hers was replaced, and if so did the person who placed it there actually KNOW where she was buried or did they just randomly put it there? Thanks for any details that you can give.
