Thanks for the correction. I have a listing that has her and her husband in both cemeteries. I deleted them.
|John H.||William Platman|
I found another entry by my Grandfather Samuel which relates to your Great grandfather William. The ( ) indicate words I'm not sure of.
Dated Saturday, February 14, 1920:
"Uncle Billie died at one o'clock this (morning).
The boys and I went down to the other place and helped the boys start the cattle. They took them to Penn Yan.
I went down to Bellona (to) see about making arrangements for the funeral. John Oughterson and I went to Penn Yan to see about the casket. Uncle Robert bought the casket for Uncle Billie 150.
Very nice day."

Thanks so much for the obituary. I've added it to our Family Tree. Since you've provided me with a time frame, I've been able to transcribe several entries from my Grandfather Samuel E. Platman's "Day Books" during this period re. John H.'s condition. If you're interested, I would be happy to share them with you. You can contact me at any time at: email@example.com

Just wanted to say hello and thank you for the info you have posted. John H. Platman was my great grandfather. Although I have visited the Bellona Cemetery several times, with most of my father's family having been buried there, you have helped me to fill in several "blanks" in our "common" history.

You are very welcome. I wish that I could be of more help. I think its
Likely she is there and just did not get recorded. Fred Gelder is in the
Shuman Cem. Even though I have photographed that cemetery, I do
not have his stone photo. I will be back there for recaps.

Patty - no problem! sorry for the confusion before. A friend and I are slowly entering all burials from Oakwood/Morningside into findagrave and attempting to take and load all the pics - a huge job!!!!! Glad there was a marker for her - I always hate it when there isn't one...

OK, transfers complete.
Tried to request links for Elloween to her parents Raymond and Cassie, but the contributor link is blocked by Find-A-Grave. If you want to pursue that a request to firstname.lastname@example.org should do it. I settled for a hyperlink in the meantime in the biography section of Raymond's memorial, using the actual spelling from the census.
My personl transfer philosphy is to make transfers where better long term care and nurturing is available. I'm satisfied that in this case it's the right decision.
Have fun! It's been great working with you. If I can help in the future, feel free to contact me.
My cousin has a theory Oughtersons migrated to Scotland from the Scandinavian countries.
