|Robert David Miller||Hi Lynne|
Please accept your family's memorials. I spotted your grandparents and a child that you left a flower to and those are the ones I transferred. Sincerely, Robert Miller
|Charlene Uchtman||Mary E. Goodlander|
You asked if Mary's maiden name was Weikel. You will find her in the 1880 Census Union Cty PA, Hartley Twp. in the home of William Winkel, listed as his mother Mary Goodlander, age 83 (1797)
I was so excited to see the headstone and the Weikel at the bottom! But doesn't it seem odd that the name of a woman's first husband would be at the bottom of her head stone?
Benjamin Goodlander's will stipulates that his daughter, Martha Moyer be given a piece of property and that she can give it to William Weikle if she wants to and it seems she did.
Now go back to the 1860 census and 3 year old Barbara Weikel,is living with William and Martha Moyer. In Barbara's obituary it says she came to MO from PA with her grandparents. And Barbara's death certificate lists her parents as Weikel and Moyer.
I have been trying for years to find out who Barbara Weikel's parents are! Alll the people I have mentioned lived close to each other and you would think there are enough clues but I am still trying to make sense of it. Thank you so much for posting this head stone!!!.

Sorry for calling you Amelia, I just got up and I'm still a bit sleepy. Sorry about that Lynne.
|Robert David Miller||RE: Amelia Wolfgang|
Hi Amelia, sorry, I am not. What I have been trying to do is document every headstone in all 11 cemeteries in the Mount Carmel area. I photograph each headstone, make a memorial to each person and leave a personal message to that person which you read. There are still Wolfgangs in the Mount Carmel area that you may be related to, so keep an eye out for my work in case I log in others in one of the other cemeteries. I am also in the process of writing a book about Mount Carmel's early history if your interested. It should be out in a year or two. Thank you for contacting me, have a Joyous and Merry Christmas. Sincerely, Robert Miller.
