Bio and Links
Bio Photo I recently read on another bio, "our ancestors can't tell us where they are buried, we have to find them." So true. I'm so thankful to all the volunteers that have registered the graves in their areas. My personal goal is to help register graves in my area that will hopefully help others locate the final resting places of their loved ones.

Please remember that while FindAGrave is a great tool to use in genealogy research, the clear mission of FindAGrave is to register the graves. If you are new to FindAGrave, please click on the "Help with FindAGrave" menu selection and read the FAQ before starting.

Yellow daffodils I've placed on a memorial usually signifies a connection to me in some way.

I'm happy to transfer memorials within the FindAGrave guidelines found in the FAQ (and I'm somewhat flexible on that). To request a transfer, click the "Edit" tab on the top right of the memorial and then "Suggest a Correction" tab to send me a note requesting the transfer, indicate HOW you are related, and don't forget to provide your Member ID. I'll consider all requests, but you might want to consider building a Virtual Cemetery (see FAQ).

I'm also more than happy to provide links where the final disposition is known or add additional information. Again, click the "Edit" tab and "suggest a correction" to send this information.

A word about photos I've placed on memorials. I'll gladly give you permission to use my photos if you ask me, indicate that I have granted you permission, and provide a link to their FindAGrave memorial. I have found several of my photos posted in family trees on the web without my permission and without a source to FindAGrave. This is a copyright violation and poor research sourcing. Again, please just do the right thing and ask if you'd like to use anything I have posted on any of the FindAGrave memorials.

To all the volunteers that walk through long forgotten, overgrown, tick and snake infested cemeteries, taking photos of all gravestones (even broken or half buried ones), and create memorials, thank you. Those gravestones may disappear or become completely unreadable in the future. For your efforts in registering the graves, thank you for all you do.

Happy hunting!

I realize that you have made many memorials and may not remember this particular one (but perhaps you have notes?)but I just came across this woman as the 2nd spouse of my ancestor John H. Jenkins (#25844410). By any chance, do you know how she was linked to him? I couldn't read if he is listed as her spouse on her headstone, and I was just curious because she is buried in a different cemetery than he and wife #1 and wife #3 are. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I visited this cemetery a few days ago and photographed some of the stones, just because I thought they were interesting. One of them doesn't seem to have been recorded with the cemetery.

to the
memory of
James P
son of [Crich? Grio-?]
& Rebecca
Dickerson who
departed this
life Oct 31st [if there is a year I can't make it out]
aged 49 y 2 m
& 13 days"

Stone is the same style as Peter Mankins'.

Maybe James and Rebecca died at the same time?

Would you want me to send you the photo? You may have copyright rights or whatever. I do a little findagrave work myself but don't know what to do when I have a record in a cemetery someone else has done all the work on. :)

I would like the transfer because he is my family and I grew up around him. It's not like I never knew him :) I have a lot of fond memories of times being at his house, etc.

Hello, I would like to have this memorial transferred to me please. I have sent numerous requests according to the guidelines. Maybe you have not received them via email. So, I thought I would break down and send the request this way. He is my Grandmother's brother. Thank you.

I am a Vermont Civil War Buff, and am presently working on a project to identify the last resting places of many of our "Old Soldiers" that had ties to Vt.
Hiram Blankly was one such patriot, being born in Rutland, Vt, credited to Vt. for service, served in the 11th Ks Cav. I am asking you if I may use the photo that you contributed to his Find A Grave Memorial ,to post o the Vt.C.W. site? (

You will receive credit for this.
