◊Find A Grave's primary purpose is a grave registration website. I believe the more information, pictures, etc., makes it much more interesting and a true tribute to the person. Please help by adding a picture if you have one or sending what information you have to share.

I am working with local research materials, newspapers, documents and the historical society to develope these memorials.

Try using the "VIRTUAL CEMETERY" instead of memorial transfers. It was created for that purpose.
♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥

PLEASE USE the "EDIT" TAB on the upper right side of the memorial to send request for "TRANSFERS" or information to be added and please send the memorial numbers for links.
This ensures I transfer or make additions to the right memorial.

The Find a Grave guidelines for Transfer Requests is as follows:

A direct relative within four generations is (siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.)

For EXTENDED FAMILY MEMBERS, (aunts, uncles, cousins) I will gladly make additions, corrections or links.

Bulk surname requests should not be made.

Please note that it is considered bad form to request a transfer and then, after receiving the transfer, delete that page and substitute it with a new memorial that you have created. This practice denies credit to the original contributor.

♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥

Let's help the next family member or researcher that visits a memorial by adding all the family links that we know. When family members are not linked, it makes the next person do the research all over again. Also, if we have the information, let's use it before it is forgotten.

Deserve an honor to be mentioned from a time and place as such their souls can; "Be identified and Connected with the Earth"
That they shared and some still share with us. They will lead us to find the truth of some unknown fact or a deeper truth of things and days gone by.

To know there were "PEOPLE", that not a soul was there except the undertaker.

No Flowers. No Goodbye.

Maybe the Undertaker said a prayer for them.

BEANIE & JUNE who helped with the research and the thousands of hours we all have spent looking and developing this site not only for us but for others. Their input for the Auburn cememteries has been transferred for me to maintain. Records will continue to be added. Any information, links, pictures, etc. are very welcome for all to share.

You were very helpful and kind to me with my research. Auburn Public Library. RETIRED 2012

Isabella Stevens Bissett
Re: 42615126

Stevens is the middle name of Isabella, not her maiden name. This woman is actually Isabella Stevens HOUSTON (!) Bissett, firstborn child of Isabella (Sinclair) Houston and James M. Houston (YES!!!), and sister of the 5 siblings you list.

Hi! The daughter Grace Belle (Sutton) Russell is buried in Camas, Washington. She was first married to Elmer Coddington, then to Gilbert "Gil" Russell. Her memorial & head stone show's Grace I. Russell. Grace had a son by Elmer, his name is Reginald Coddington Russell. Carrie's "full" name may have actually been Caroline "Cal" F. (Hamilton) Sutton. Her first marriage was to a, ? Calhoun, then to Richard Thomas Sutton. This info. comes from a Hamilton family history. Carrie had 2 son's by Sutton, but I do not know their names. thanks jim

Do you mind if I use your photos for the Stewarts on my and Family trees? I will give you credit for the original photos.

Thank you so much for your work in uploading these memorials. I'm from the Tennessee group and have been trying to document and validate my information.

You've done a very comprehensive job of describing all the facts and personal data for my beloved Aunt Elsie. I have several photographs taken throughout her lifetime and would be happy to pass them along to you, or you can pass the management of the site to me, and I will update.

Betty Jo Locke
Memorial # 50174625, Old Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, Placer Co, CA.
Below is an newspaper article you might like to add to her bio.

Fresno Bee Republican (Fresno, California)- 28 May 1952

Man Electrifies Fence, Kills Young Daughter - Sacramento - AP - Touching an electrified fence around the flower garden of her home brought death yesterday to 10 year old Betty Jo Locke. Corner deputies said the girl backed into the 110 volt fence while playing, her 8 year old sister, Lana, heard the screams, switched off the current and ran to a neighbor's house for help, the deputies added.

Mrs. Warren Locke, the girl's mother, told investigators the fence - a lead tubing wound with naked wire-was set up by her husband to keep dogs from the flowers.
