William Shattuck
Thank you for posting the information about there being two William Shattucks. I was not aware of this previously. I am a descendant of Exercise and Elizabeth from one of them, and Mary from the other.

Snow family
Shirly, good to see/read someone who has some idea about genealogy and research and is also critical. I agree with your inputs about the mis-information about Nicholas 1-2-3 Snow and Anthony Snow. I have been going crazy trying to find information concerning birth and early life information about Anthony Snow. Also his arrival in America. He is supposed to be the son of Nicholas Snow 2 but I cannot find proof. He also "just appears" in Plymouth around 1638 requesting land from the court. No earlier information can be found. He wasn't granted freeman status until he was about 49 years old (if he was really born in 1602) which is kind of unusual for someone who is already a tradesman (feltmaker), married to someone with status (wealth), and a land owner.
The reason for this message is while researching early records of England (1580-1640) to try and fix the Snow problem I found out that when a child was born but died at birth or within a day or two it was custom to put the fathers name down in the death record for the baby. This lasted until 1813 when a standard form was used. I wanted to see if you had any thoughts about this being part of our Snow problem where the person coming to America is also shown being buried within 3 days of birth? Sam
