Bio and Links
Bio Photo My home is circa 1784. Its situation is such that it fell in the line of battle during the conflict between the States. When my father died, I was too early at the cemetery for the appointment concerning the necessary arrangements. To pass the time I paid a visit to the antique shop close by. Displayed there was a book which possessed a title that gave me the idea that my home may be mentioned within. Upon opening it, the pages fell directly to a description and photograph of my old place. It was not intended for the purpose, but the volume became a much worn field guide as I sought to visit and photograph other antebellum homes in the vicinity. I pursued that objective with interest and vigor. This caused me to notice the old churches en route and I began to photograph them. Behind the churches were cemeteries. Cemeteries that I found to be serene and sublime, full of lore. In turn they led me here and I stayed.

Thomas William Jett
Mr. Seitz, my name is Anna Belle Timberlake and I grew up in Reedville. Thomas William Jett is my great great grandfather. If you require any assistance with the Jett family line, please don't hesitate to contact me. I can, with the help of those family members that came before us, trace the Jett family back to Peter Jett, who crossed the Atlantic as a new colonist in the mid 1600's.

RE: Judson Vincent Hooper
He is my grandfather's brother, and yes, this is an excellent biographical sketch of his life. It has been several years since I have read it. Thanks for redirecting me back to this source once again.

Best regards,
Stardust

They repaired his headstone. A poor job at that. It looks like a caulking I touched it still soft. Should let the professionals do it. I will look up the location again to make sure it's right. I have it two stones down Grave 25.

Hi George. There is another Timothy W. Bludworth headstone at Oakwood. Both are the same person but not in the same location. I put up the picture on your memorial. The one I put up is in the right location. Sec. G, Row J, Grave 17. I guess somebody goofed.

RE: Photo of Myrtle B Courtney
Thanks! I found it on Amazon too. When you first mentioned it, I didn't think it would be a recently printed book.

Thanks again!

George,

Oh, no I definitely don't want you to remove it! If she is in this book perhaps other members of my family are also.

I am from Hampton, Virginia and I would love to have a copy of this book. Where did you access this?
