I am currently researching the Ellis and Reeder lines in my family. I am particularly interested in finding my Great-Great-Grandfather, David C. Reeder (b 1849). At present, I cannot find his date of death, where he died or his burial place. If you know anything about him, please leave me a message. |
If I have added a memorial for your loved one, and you would like it transferred to you, kindly leave the memorial number of your loved one plus their name as it appears on Find A Grave; as well as your member number and your relationship to the person you would like transferred.

Well that's interesting. I do know that Elsie's Mom was never married and died very young. Tracing her partner back, his ancestor came in 1630 on the "Lyon", a Pilgrim supply ship. Then he was one of the founders of Hartford, CT. I guess some of this is going to be hunches and guesses, and the only way to obtain solid evidence would involve a lot of travel and digging through archives. My Wife's Mom actually did do that for her ancestry. Took an extended World tour to Europe and Scandinavia and went into the Churches, where the actual records are. The things I have found on my own really blow my mind. Of the 100 people on Mayflower, we had two, my Wife has Five. Our 9X Great-Uncle lived in Governor Bradford's house for Ten years! On my Dad's side, I found Two men who fought in the Revolutionary war. My 3X Great Grandfather owned a farm in Gettysburg. He got married on Christmas day, 1860. The battle was fought in his fields. History really comes into a much sharper focus when you realize those were our ancestors! Wendell

Thomas Rogers and his son Joseph are our ancestors. Thomas is a 10X Great Grandfather in the Woodworth side. Both were on the Mayflower's first voyage. Thomas was the 18th person to sign the Mayflower Compact. His Daughter, Elizabeth, married Walter Woodworth.

Dear Trisha, I am a volunteer at the Library of the Jackson County Genealogical Society in Jackson Michigan. We have had a research request from a Patron on your ancestor Elsie. My Patron claims that Elsie married Ernest Carpenter on 1 December 1913 in Chicago, Illinois, and that they lived in Jackson 1914-19??. However, your bio does not list this marriage. Do you know anything about Elsie marrying Ernest? If they did, do you know when they divorced? Thank you in advance for your help!

I checked with my genealogy mentor(Debi Hayes-Wolfe) and she explained to me that you are correct. I've made the changes! Thanks for catching this error. The automatic edit's are not always right.

Like I said, I took the photo and set up the memorial, that is why my name is at the bottom. As far as the information, other people have added this information.
