| Bio and Links | | I am an American expatriate of sorts in Panama City, Panama. I have been a fan of this site for over a decade, but only last year became a member. I recently began working on a little project documenting the burial locations of notable Panamanians. Please feel free to message me in regards to any information or assistance which may be provided. Thank you! | |

 | Victoriano Lorenzo We did a whole series of articles on General Victoriano Lorenzo and I didn't discover his final resting place until I found your post on Find a Grave. Thank you for this. | RE: Congratulations! Thanks!
Finally was able to get some extended family involved who still had contact with other family in Panama.
I'm the ex in the family, but still on good terms with the sisters-in-law, so one was able to speak with her cousin there.
Thanks again for all your help....most appreciated! Gloria | | | Gloria Tune
 | RE: Cemetery Photo-Manuel Amador Guerrero Cemetery Hi BluGraver,
Thanks so very much for the photo. How very tragic this wonderful old cemetery cannot be visited as it should.
Since all of Rosa's descendants live in the U. S., the photo will definitely be treasured.
Many blessings, Gloria | | | Ghoulfriend14

Leroy Norman Lewis, 65, Mastered Pipe Organ
Obituaries
November 1, 2000|By Martin E. Comas of The Sentinel Staff
Leroy Norman Lewis had a gift for music.
And when he sat down to play a large pipe organ, he filled the air with an elegant range of tones, friends and family members said.
"It was majestic. It was a wonderful sound,'' said his sister, Laura Keglovits. "The way he played, it was a gift. It was something he knew he could do and he loved it.''
Lewis, a Winter Park resident, died Saturday of cancer. He was 65.
Born in Reading, Pa., Lewis started playing the piano at the age of 3.
"He'd go to the piano, pick out notes, then add to them,'' said Hazel Hensing, a close friend.
Lewis was just a teenager when he played his first theater pipe organ -- a mighty Wurlitzer seen commonly in large churches -- when he visited a church in Ohio.
"He became so fascinated with it. He just had to find out how this thing worked,'' Hensing said.
In the 1950s and 1960s, he performed at various nightclubs, churches and hotels in the Northeast -- including the Surf City Hotel in Long Beach Island, N.J., the Promenade in Newark, N.J., and Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Lewis also performed at the El Panama Hilton Hotel in Panama, and recorded several record albums and cassettes, family members said.
In 1989, he retired and moved to Central Florida, but he still played periodically in various clubs and other venues in the area.
"He was one of the best organ players in the country,'' Hensing said.
A member of First Congregational Church of Winter Park, Lewis also belonged to the American Theatre Organist Society.
Survivors also include half-sister, Linda Baum, Wernersville, Pa.
Arrangements are being handled by Tri-County Cremation Service, Longwood.

 | RE: Octavio Mendez Pereira suggestion Yes, as a Panamanian, I definately appreciate your work. I'm going to write the Admin and ask them why Octavio is not regarded as a famous person to them. Anyways, I will look out for pics that I think you could be interested in. Where are you looked?
Regards,

 | RE: Manuel Amador Guerrero Cemetery Thanks for the response and your offer. How sad it must be for those wanting to visit loved ones, yet unable due to the gangs. Maybe I can find a photo online, ask permission to use, and post there.

 | Manuel Amador Guerrero Cemetery Hi BluGraver,
I just found out that our Rosa Elvira Delgado de McPherson, Find A Grave Memorial# 35986462, is interred with her parents in the Manuel Amador Guerrero Cemetery.
Would you by chance have a photo of this cemetery that you could post at her memorial? http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=35986462
I won't ask you to look for them, as I was told this is a dangerous part of Panama City???? This was told to my sister-in-law by some of the family still living there, so I don't know personally.
If not, then thanks just the same, Gloria | | | Gloria Tune
 | RE: Another question please BluGraver,

 | Another question please Would you mind if I use this photo you submitted for the Jardin de la Paz cemetery? I did find out that Jose Nikacio McPherson does not have a marker, but would like to add this photo for him at Findagrave and that of the McPherson plot if you don't mind.....

 | El Jardin de Paz Cemetery Hi BluGraver,
A question please....do you know if there is a mausoleum at this cemetery? I was thinking if Jose Nikacio McPherson & wife Rosa Delgado McPherson were not there with the rest of the McPherson family, then perhaps the other option might be cremation with the "cremains" interred elsewhere.
I'm trying to get information from their daughters, my ex sisters-in-law, who hopefully may know.
Also, do you have a local phone number and/or address for the Jardin de la Paz? I thought if all else fails, I could phone or write for records.
Thanks again for your help, Gloria | | | | [View all messages...] |
