Bio Photo DEAR ANCESTOR

YOUR TOMBSTONE STANDS AMONG THE REST;
NEGLECTED AND ALONE
THE NAME AND DATE ARE CHISELED OUT
ON POLISHED MARBLE STONE

IT REACHES OUT TO ALL WHO CARE
IT IS TOO LATE TO MOURN
YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT I EXIST
YOU DIED AND I WAS BORN.

YET EACH OF US ARE CELLS OF YOU
IN FLESH, IN BLOOD, IN BONE.
OUR BLOOD CONTRACTS AND BEATS A PULSE
ENTIRELY NOT OUR OWN.

DEAR ANCESTOR, THE PLACE YOU FILLED
ONE-HUNDRED YEARS AGO
SPREADS OUT AMONG THE ONES YOU LEFT
WHO WOULD HAVE LOVED YOU SO.

I WONDER IF YOU LIVED AND LOVED,
I WONDER IF YOU KNEW
THAT SOMEDAY I WOULD FIND THIS SPOT,
AND COME TO VISIT YOU?

RE: Charles Eugene Martin
If you would have told me that I would have simply transferred him to you . I have no problem with that. I am sorry for your loss.

You write: "I would thank you to remove this mem #167892752". Why would I remove it? The obituary was publicly posted. There is nothing there that is not on the funeral home website and the newspaper. If all of the memorials were removed that had obits posted there would be a vast number of memorials removed. I am not sure why you would single me out. Maybe it's because you are not very active in adding memorials and have not noticed the trends.

You also write: "Why would you want to add info. about a person you do not know @ all?" How do you know that I don't know Charles?

I am well aware of the Find A Grave guidelines as I have been a member over 16 years but thank you for reading them yourself. You will find that there are many of the guidelines that are not followed. Many of them are way more destructive than posting a public obit. I strive to enter correct information. For the most part the obits are a source of correct information.

You being a genealogist should know better than anyone what a treasure it is to find documentation on a life.

I will continue my work and hope that you will be gracious enough to add your wealth of information to this tribute to those who have gone before us.

Bless you.

RE: RE:Jetton's; AZ.
I'm going to say no at this time. One Jetton was in Arizona, but his younger sister died prior to marriage.

Thank you for the note. I see there is a second memorial by Bob Mead. I have sent him a note and asked if he would consider removing his memorial. I do not see any links on his memorial. It seems to be only for the history and for having her listed in Find A Grave. Sarah is my great aunt and I have the memorial linked to family. I would very much like to keep mine. I have left him my email and asked him to get in touch with me. I do not know when he might get back to me but I will update you with developments.

Thank you,
Douglas King Sr.
