Bio and Links
Bio Photo As a child, my mother was always bringing us on Cemetery hunts and we spent many hours making grave rubbings and walking thru the monuments . I get great satisfaction in being a Find a Grave volunteer and am on my own search for my family who went before me and helped to make my life the blessing that it is. I'm gratified to know that I am able to unite in such a small way, families who are in search of each other.

Family names I am researching are Curtis, Hollis, Crofut, Burt, Gates, Melow, Sutherland, Watts, McKay, Cady, Sherwood, Pitts, Parker, Thompson, Pyle to name a few.

Thank you to everyone who contributes to this wonderful website and the intensely important business of perpetuating history by documenting the people and their contributions that have gone and lived before us, gave us life, and a reason to live. God Bless you all.

If you have time please visit my family's war veterans and a very special young man who I had the privilidge of knowing, Lt. Timothy Steele who died in Afganistan.

RE: William Chambers and Alice Wain
Hi Kate ~ I have run into that (cemeteries saying the person is not there when they really are) many times. It appears that not all cemeteries have kept good records over the years.

I think the photo of the headstone is pretty fair proof that William Chambers is buried there, regardless of what their records show.

I also found that BillionGraves has a photo of Alice's stone. You can see it at:

Hope that helps!

RE: Anna Blackman
Hi Kate,
Per the 1850 Federal Census, she was living in the household of Benjamin Curtis, aged 77. He had a son, Benjamin Curtis, aged 36. Reviewing the Beers Map of Newtown for 1867, I find a B. Curtis located on what is now called Zoar Rd. This would be less than two miles from the Zoar (Berkshire) Cemetery. A couple of the neighbors names on the map appear on the census page. So I think it's the right Curtis family.

Hope this helps.

RE: Daisy
You're more than welcome.

I also added photos for Miss Daisy's parents: Christopher and Sophia Sherwood.

RE: Burt transfers
I did it because the messages you left on the memorials made it obvious they were your family. They are not my family, so I figured it fitting for you to have the memorials. If I missed any, please let me know and I will transfer those as well!

RE: William Currier
Kate. Thank you so much for all the trouble you have gone through looking for William. I would think he would have been buried close to his parents since he was supposed to have been moved there at the same time as Hannah. I appreciate all that you are doing and that you added more headstone photos to my Currier memorials. Photo's are so important to people who cannot visit the cemetery and having a memorial and photo on Find A Grave is as close to being there in person as you can get. Thank you. Gayle
