RE: Lairmor S and Julie E. S. Brown
I have no earthly idea how that happened, I don't even work on MO cemeteries, and the numbers aren't even close! It's fixed now, I think, better it check it, please.

RE: Gertrude Parkey
I am the one that will be doing the headstone photo within the next 2-3 weeks. Don't know if you already have a copy of the obit. If not, here is a link to it.

Jerusha Bachus
I did a bit of research, and Jerusha Bachus appears to be a granddaughter of Jerusha Reed and daughter of Phineas.

Ref. and enter:
peter j backus jerusha

So there's that.

Van Hoesen Reed Van Alstyne cemetery -- Jerusha Reed

Just recently discovered the "contribute photos" function of Find a Grave, so I joined. I went to this burial ground looking for Jerusha Reed. The burial ground is in poor condition, overgrown, and has many broken and buried or half-buried stones. I photographed and added as many as I could interpret, but there are also some unreadable stones.

I was excited when I saw a stone, lying face up but partially buried, with first name Jerusha, but as I investigated more I discovered the last name was Bachus (wife of Peter I.), and listed as mother of Phineas...the rest of the stone is unreadable.

I think I read somewhere that family members proving a relationship could try to clean up and improve old burial grounds such as these, if you could visit.

Best time is before tilling/planting or after harvest of the corn field surrounding it. :-) Cemetery is on a hilltop across road from 4334 NY 66, less than a mile south of where 66 crosses the Thruway-Berkshire Spur in Malden Bridge.

Sorry I couldn't find more!
