"I love dead people, In fact, I come from a long line of dead people." --from the comic 'Empowered' by Adam Warren|
If I manage the memorial of a family member or friend of yours, I'll be pleased to transfer. It's so exciting to find things you are looking for! :)
It annoys me when people here treat memorials like their personal property - like memorials are trading cards to collect and hoard. ಠ_ಠ
You know the ones! These memorials are the property of Find A Grave. We are just caretakers.
I am *always* happy to transfer, except when the person is my own relative (and no one is closer) or ones I have a special interest in. Even those I will pass on to a relative of any distance.
I have even transfered to non-relatives with a special interest in the deceased.
PHOTO NOTE: I did not take the photos of Brooklyn Hts Cemetery in Cleveland. They were ALL originally transcribed and photographed by a very nice lady, Susanna Pretzer. She was completing a project to earn the Gold Award in Girl Scouts.
I checked with her, and have permission to post her photos and add the names. She said, "I definitely didn't know how physically and organizationally demanding it would be when I started, but that made it all the more satisfying...The idea was to get the information to the people who want it, so go for it. If it'll reach interested people who might not find it where it is currently online or in hard copy at the Western Reserve Historical Society, then it's good." --Thanks, Susanna!
Another note on PHOTOS: I give my permission to copy any photos I have taken for your own use or for another site. There are only a few -of thousands- that I have posted which I did not take personally. Just ask, please, so I make sure you are taking something I shot.

|Nae x ||Inquiry: Samuel Lockhart|
Inquiry: Cartmell's History of Greene County states Samuel was commissioned as Captain, May 22, 1811
I am trying to track down Samuel's commission as Captain, and for the life of me :), I cannot find Cartmell and his History of Greene County, nor can I find a submission to the War Department for Samuel as Captain and I can not find any records other than Private for Samuel. This does not mean he wasn't (and he probably was a Captain because of Josiah), I just need to track down the actual commission...date is off though, because of 1811, should probably be 1812???? Then I do have Josiah
*April 28 1812, Josiah was commissioned captain of 2nd Battalian of W. Arthur's regiment by Govenor Return Jonathan Meigs.Source:Dixon, page 31 and Source:Roster of Ohio Soldiers War of 1812 page 26. https://archive.org/stream/rosterofohiosold00ohio#page/n31/mode/2up/search/Josiah/
*"March 1 1814, Josiah was commissioned Brigadier General by Gov. Meigs.And: Dixon, page 31
If possible, I would greatly appreciate a link or source for the above "Captain". I didn't find any records for Josiah as General...except where he was commissioned so that doesn't mean that Samuel was not a Captain...This is for a "Name" study as well as a profile: SEE: http://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Lockhart-1452&public=1
Thanks! And very much appreciated. Nae X

|Richard Snyder||Woodland Cemetery|
Hello...I recently started volunteering with the Woodland Cemetery Foundation...doing some research, taking lots of photos, etc, etc. I've always been fascinated with any cemetery wherever I am, and Woodland is so wonderful...it is now my second home. Wanted you to know that I have been adding many photos, and your name keeps popping up with great bios of the residents. I'm sure I have posted many many photos to your memorials. Today, I did the Strever/Frank families in Section 36 Lot 9. Just thought I would touch base with you...if there's anything that you ever need help with, please let me know. A great summer to you!! Richard

You're most welcome and thanks for the quick response. You're doing a great job keeping up on updating the memorials, so a transfer isn't necessary unless you'd like to transfer it to me, then it's fine. Thanks so much!

I am fairly certain that this is my husband's 3rd great-grandfather & grandmother. I was wondering if you could tell me where the articles on the page came from? Would like very much to verify this information & obtain more as to this tragedy. Thanks for any help & your time!
Hi. I am the great grandson of August and would like to have the memorial transferred to me. Let me know if this is possible. Thank you.

Thank you. Tibbs did not come up in a search when I first looked. Then of course after I sent the email they showed up.:)
No transfer necessary. They are listed I am happy with that.

|Joan Pacitti||The Toy Thief|
Hi: I finally went to the memorial No. 128471056. It's so pretty and the engraving of this baby child is so well done.
I also went into Memorial No. 128471464. The grave site for the thief's husband is really well done. The gravestone is also very well done, but I think the woman should not have put her photo on it.
Sorry it took so long for me to look this up.
|Betty Perry||Margaretha and Jacob Horsch Obituaries|
