Bio Photo My name is Sharon Gifford Cheek. I am the oldest daughter of Eugene Burton Gifford, Jr. and Betty Potts Gifford. I live near Booneville, Mississippi. Campground Cemetery is located less than one mile from my childhood home. I frequented it as a child captivated by the ancient burials that occurred there. I am a member of Gaston Baptist Church in Booneville, Mississippi. I work as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Prentiss County School District. I am married to Jeffrey Paul Cheek, originally from Kosciusko, Mississippi (Attala County, Mississippi). Jeff is the son of Joe D. Cheek and Jeanene Crosby Cheek of Kosciusko, Mississippi. Jeff and I are the parents of three children.

Albina Brown Gifford
Hello Sharon. For some reason, I feel like we've communicated before, but I can find no record of it. Robert and Albina Gifford were my 3rd-Great grandparents (their daughter Mary Ann Elizabeth Gifford m George Washington Mauldin, their son Finice Ewing Mauldin m Mary Isebell Denson, their daughter Pearl Lou Vina Mauldin was my grand-mother). I am writing to inquire where you got the information regarding Albina's death and burial. I have tried for years to find a record, with no luck, and your Find-a-Grave entry is the first I've come upon (at least that I can determine). Please let me know. Thank you for the work you do for your fellow family tree climbers.

Robert White
No problem with not finding Robert Whites stone at Carolina Cemetery. Many of those stones were home made and disintergrated rapidly in that era.
Just knowing where Robert was buried is great.

Thanks much.
