MISSION: I believe Find A Grave's mission first and foremost is to document cemeteries; to accurately record graves, not to build one's family tree.|
Find A Grave FAQs says: Find a Grave's mission is to find, record and present final disposition information from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.
Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.
Find a Grave memorials [may] contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can leave remembrances via 'virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.
TRANSFERS (PLEASE READ): Per Find A Grave FAQs, Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred.
I will consider making out-of-guideline transfers on a case-by-case basis. Please tell me your specific relationship to the one you want transferred to you. I need specifics not vague statements such as this is my family member, my relative or they are in my family tree. IF YOU AREN'T SPECIFIC, I WILL IGNORE/DELETE YOUR REQUEST. Please be considerate when asking.
This is guidelines set forth by Find A Grave. If you don't agree with them, please take it up with Find A Grave.

Orosi and Cutler were taken from the social security death index which says "last residence," such as Orosi or Cutler. The California Death index says simply Tulare. So the SSDI saying Orosi or Cutler in this case may not be exactly accurate if there are no hospitals in those towns. Ancestry.com does not publish California death certificates to say where exactly someone died. If you have more accurate information, please feel free to suggest those edits. I hope this helps. Thanks.

The Bertha I created lived 1908-1995. The duplicate Bertha is Bernice Bertha Butterfield Mikolainis #120504138, 1938-2005.
Thank you fro transferring Uncle Paul. We really appreciate the memorial you created.

I think they made a mess with the records, I know she was 3 in the 1920 census and 13 in the 1930. She is my grandfather's sister and I am in contact with her son Kent. He thinks she shaved a couple of years off of her age as she was older than her husband. I didn't put an edit in for her birthdate as I figured her secret is safe with me. I do have her obituary if you would like me to send it to you to verify this is her, my grandpa Clay Mellor is her brother and she has a son Kent. Let me know and I will gladly send it to you so you can verify. Thanks for everything you've done for this site.

Every week the number of Roselawn memorials increases. It is so nice to see so many contributors working to remember them. Thank you, Dale

No problem - I live pretty close to the cemetery. I have a question for you. I am taking other pictures while there of markers in the vicinity of the requests, just in case they have no photos posted. I have seen several memorials you are managing with unknown dates while I'm uploading photos. Do you get notifications when I add photos to older memorials? If not, do you want me to notify you when there are dates to add?

Pretty confusing. Always something with the records I think.I have a photo copy of the Death Record if you want me to email it to you to compare. I know they lived in Cable, Bayfield County so I just don't know why they put her as death in Ashland. I do have the copy of the Wisconsin Death Records Index for that decade if you want a copy. I appreciate you checking on this. Your work is appreciated.
# 85821289 She lived in Bayfield County & died in Ashland. The Wisconsin Death Record shows that.
Wisconsin Death Index, 1959-1997 for Laura J Griffin
1979 through 1997 G - Death County ASHLAND
Hope that helps.
Thank you Kathy.
