Michael Mara (O'Mara) is the brother to my great, great grandfather. I have his baptism, his marriage certificate, to Johanna Quine, in Ireland. (Michael & Johanna buried Holy Cross (Letters, U, 257)
Michael joined the Civil war in 1861, was hurt in battle and discharged 2 months before his death, resulting from his wounds.
They had 4 children, John (d 1892) buried with both parents, Holy Cross, (Letters, U, 257) who married Mary (d 1879)leaving a son, Joseph. Hannah, Cornelius, whom you know, and Mary. (d 1910) Married to Edward Dunne, buried Holy Cross, (B,8,104)
I have all of my family, all of these decedents, Census and graves. I will be going to the archives soon for certificates too.
I like to have all the back up first too. As for John's son Joseph, I believe he, his wife Annie and their 3 yr old are also buried in Holy Cross, but I must confirm this with death certificates to be sure, there are at least 4 choices.
Romard family Thank you, Caz, for the information on my family history. I am the granddaughter of John Bennett Francis Romard, who passed away in 1958. I remember him dearly along with my grandmother, Catherine, and a brief memory of Leo, who was not listed. My father was Charles Joseph Romard, who was the brother of Catherine Sias. I remember the names of Stephan and William and remember seeing a wall plaque tribute for William down in Red Hook, Brooklyn. William was killed during World War 1. This was the first time I had heard that my great grandfather, Florian Romard, was killed on board his boat by the steering wheel. Florian's son, John and my father, Charles, went on to working on the boats. Very interesting. Thank you. Just wished we had some pictures. Thanks for the info.
Roger and Mary Worden graves I walked around Brookdale Cemetery several times, but could not locate actual stones for Roger and Mary Worden. Found a Fanny Worden and a Carrie Worden Robbins daughter of Isaac and Catherine Robbins. Possibly Catherine was a Worden and Daughter's middle name after her maiden name? There were several blank stones and missing stones in this area, so, possibly they no longer exist.
