I have visited quite a few cemeteries and made photos to add to Find A Grave. This has been a joy for me to be able to do this. Now it is not safe to go to most cemeteries alone and I haven't been able to travel around Alabama as much as I have in the past.
By adding a virtual cemetery on FAG you can continually add your family whether or not you maintain the memorials. This is a great way of keeping up with your ancestry.
May I suggest if you have used someone else's list to add memorials that you please check your information before you add them. We all can make a mistake and if you have added an incorrect memorial please be nice and cooperate with everyone. If we work together we will not have duplicate memorials on the same cemetery.
Please continue to send me your edit/request/bios that you would like me to add by way of edit. I check the edits almost every day and process them.
When requesting transfers please state your relation per find a grave guidelines within four generations (siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents). Also, the goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal is to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.
Please when you visit cemeteries for the purpose of adding memorials take the time if you have a camera to take a photo of the marker. The markers are there because those people lived not just because they died.
