My name is Kimberly and I began my journey here at "Find a Grave" in August 2009 when I stumbled upon this website by accident. My father had just past away 2 years ago and I had not been able to go and see his grave or headstone. I was totally surprised that someone had taken a picture of his headstone and put it on this site. My husband and I moved from California to Texas. His mother is buried in Central California and I was able meet another fantastic volunteer who went and took photos of my husband's mother's headstone and other famiily members so that he is able to have a memorial for them since we are so far away. I know there are so many others out there who do not know about this site and I want to help share this site with others. I feel it is important to keep our loved ones memories alive.|
I have enjoyed linking family together on here and this site has been advantageous in my genealogy endeavors. The following are surnames of the family I am researching: Shields; Hannah; McElwain; Detherow; Case; Shook; Davis; Pilkington; Harmon; and most of Webster Co., Missouri (to list a few). If you are related, please let me know. I have done a lot of research on most of these families and would love to share anything I have.
**** I would be happy to transfer memorials to those related and even non-related, within reason; I just ask that those memorials I transfer be cared for as I have cared for them ****
All my blessings

|Joyce Snell||RE: Pilkinton & Harmon|
I'm related directly to the Harmon line but to the Pilkinton line only through a marriage. I know very little about either on though.
|Joyce Snell||Pilkinton & Harmon|
You state that you are related/have done research for both these surnames, so I am assuming that you are related in some way. If so, please contact me. Thanks.

The photo was my pleasure.
Have an awesome day, Bill
I checked at Elmwood Cemetery, and it seems there is no listing for anyone named McElwain buried there. We have several cemetery around the town, I don't know if the infant is buried in one of them, it might be beneficial to call the city offices and check on the other cemetery's.

The McElwain family photo on this memorial for Ed McElwain has several names wrong. You have the same photo on other memorials that are correct could you replace this one with your revised photo? The note you have at the bottom has the married name of Dona spelled wrong it should be Cowen.

One of the 2 McElwain Cemeteries in Webster Co MO (the one with 4 Chenoweth children listed) is located on what was James Walker McElwain land. In 1996 with the help of Nettie Gorman and the Marshfield Library we were able to go on the land and take pictures.
The family story I heard was James Walker McElwain #54295330 was buried on his land with no marker or fence and only a cedar tree to mark the spot. I believe you could show him as buried there if that is something you can do. What do you think?
I also noticed a typo for Louisa Graves his wife there is a note that says "daughter of James B. McElwain and Mahala (Hayes) McElwain" McElwain should be "Graves".
The child missing in the list of children for Louisa and James Walker is Clarinda McElwain born in 1848.
Let me know if you need anything.

|Missing My Loved ones||Rose Hill , OKC|
I would like to help you with you headstone requests for ROSE HILL cemetery here in OKLAHOMA CITY but the cemetery not very helpful nor do they have good maintenance or grave markers to tell you where your at. I went to ask them if someone was buried here and they said it would cost me 5$ for that info. that their services is for family only and they had to call in to get the info. when i asked for maps of the cemetery so i can find where things are they said tell the family to request the map for the info on which they are inquiring. There phone number is 405-843-5771 or fax number 405-843-5754.
