Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy work for about 25 years with brief intervals of inactivity when my life took different turns.

I love going to all the old cemeteries in South Georgia marveling at some of the old tombstones, some of which are quite elaborate and expensive even for that period of time, and dreaming about how our ancestors lived. Since my husband and I shared so many ancestors (including at least three great-great-great grandfathers), it was an easy task getting information about our "kinfolk".

When my husband of nearly 40 years died in 2002 my enthusiasm for genealogy waned somewhat and I did little research for a couple of years but then I found the FindAGrave website and entered a few memorials. I absolutely love entering memorials and posting pictures of tombstones for so many of the South Georgia cemeteries which I have helped "survey" over the years thus enabling so many people access to this information. I especially like being able to link families and consider this one of the most important features of FindAGrave.

I believe when entering genealogy information one should always be open to criticism in order to get information as accurate as possible -- especially when it is posted on the internet for so many thousands of people to view. Accuracy should be the #1 consideration for all genealogists and I will always strive for accuracy.

Hi Barbara,
No I don't have any means of verifying if this is indeed Connie. I will be glad to insert a note to the possibility of it though. Frequently when you do that someone will stumble across that has more info and send that additional info. Send me a note to insert and I will.
Warm regards,

Hi-Not sure if you are still working under "Kathy" sometimes, I sent her some messages to add some info to the Bullards at Beaver Dam, if so, maybe you can add. Haven't forgotten William Roberts but so far haven't found anything more. Cat

I created the profile because I clearly didn't know one already existed for him because he went by Willie. I created it when I first came to this site I'm sure.
Have no fear I will remove the profile I created. lol

Annie E Thomas Cribb
You sent me a message suggesting that her maiden was Thompson dau of John W Thompson. I have done additional research which I will list. Let me know what you think. Thank goodness I know you to consider all possibilites as I have worked with you previously.

I think my research seems to support Annie E as Annie E Thomas based on the following:

1900 Ware Census as Annie E Thomas NIECE of Stephen Ashley Spence and Eliza Thomas.
Marriage as Annie Thomas to John Cribb in Ware on 20 May 1901.

Facts without complete link:

1. Stephen Ashley Spence m Eliza Thomas in Ware, Ga in 1875
Stephen Spence was the son of Moses W Spence & Susan McCall.

2.Eliza Thomas was the dau of Lewis Thomas, Jr. E Prussia Ann Eason.
Lewis Thomas also had a son, George Thomas-sister to above Eliza.

3. George Thomas was married 3 times: Annie Brodie; Eliza Rogers 1886; Mrs Nora Strickland Joiner.
Annie Brodie, 1st wife, must have died before 1886 as George re-married at that time.

This is the BIG IF: IF, George Thomas sent his dau, Annie E Thomas, to live with his sister, Eliza Thomas Spence then Annie should appear in the 1900 census as Lewis' niece-in-law rather than his niece. Remember that the in-law of relatives was not always noted. Since Annie was not born until 1883, the earliest census where she would appear in 1900.

the John W Thompson you suggested was a neighbor of Lewis Spence; however, I can find no relationship between Lewis Spence nor Eliza Thomas with John W Thompson nor his wife.

There is an Annie G Thomas b May 1883 listed in 1900 Dist 1554 Pierce, GA. I considered that Annie might have been just visiting when each of the census were taken; however Annie E Thomas states b Mar 1883 and Annie G states st born May 1883. The initial is very clear for each Ann which leads me to believe the are different people.

The connection work great except the concrete link as George Thomas as father of Annie E Thomas.

I did try to find other members of the Spence and Thomas families who might be possible parents of Annie E. George Thomas & Annie Brodie were the only candidates. I looked for the death cert for Annie E Thomas which might list her parents-no luck. I also searched for the dc of her children which might list her parents-no luck.

I also researched John W Thompson & wife for any Spence connections, I found nothing other than living in the same neighborhood. In addition, I would think Annie would have been in the home with her WD father and 2 brothers rather than living with a neighbor. John's Pension application states that he and 2 young sons are in home with only his sons for support-1901

That is the best I have. I'm open-minded to your case. BTW, I did read the obit posted on Find A Grave for Harriet as you suggested. I did not see Annie's name listed.
Please share your thoughts.
