I am doing family research in Sullivan and Orange counties in New York, especially in the Mamakating/Town of Deerpark/Forestburgh areas. |
As interested as I am in finding out how far back I can trace my roots, I am more fascinated by how far they branch out, knitting together the small, far-flung hamlets and villages that grew along with the Delaware and Hudson Canal, and later the railroads. I'm continually amazed at what a small world it really was (and is).

I inadvertently requested this memorial for transfer to me, only to find you had already transferred it. My apologies, and thank you, Vivian.

PS - I know that there are TONS of people with the name Costello, but FYI I have a Mary Costello in my family line - she married a Kiffmeyer in Ohio and she is buried at St. Joes cemetery in Price Hill, Cincinnati, Ohio - memorial 119446073.

Thank you so much for the transfer of Ida Amelia Bishop Quinn, 110874301, my great-grandmother. I never knew her, but I heard stories from my grandmother, her daughter. I will be taking the Huffman/Quinn line back to the Revolutionary War soon. I have requested a photo of the grave and was just wondering if you might know the plot number or if there have been attempts to locate the grave and they have been unsuccessful?
Funny you mention the railroad as my father worked on the railroad for a time and even had one of the strange numbers for Social Security that came from railroad workers :-)
Thanks again - if even I can be of help her in Australia, feel free to holler!

Thank you, Vivian, for transferring the Memorial #46580792 to me.

That elusive Samuel John Rivenburg finally surfaced! Memorial #100732085. Since you communicate with Paul, you may already know this. He and Libbie are buried next to each other, fitting of course, but so tragic.. separate in life and united in death.
I still haven't learned to navigate the newspaper site. (sigh) But I do still have it.

|Sherry ||Sinsabaughs at Sylvan Cemetery|
I noticed that Emily Sinsabaugh and Laura Henderson are buried at the Cemetery and it mentions a family plot. So I would like to know if William, Emily's husband, is buried within the plot also. Would you be able to find this out for me?
Thank you for posting this information! I truely appreiate the work you have done and are doing.
