|Nick Minyard||Linking mother and father to daughter|
I am doing my family tree and noticed that my great aunt 25192763 and my great uncle 104941042 are not linked to their daughter 51038470. If I could get this request I would appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

So glad to see your post - my sister saw it first and told me that you responded. Our question concerns the father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of Jefferson Stone Covington. We have proof of their relationships up to the relationship of James G. to his father John Jr., and John Jr. and his relationship to John Sr. My sister and I are members of DAR, but on another family line. I appears that John Covington Sr. fought in the American Revolution and was given a pension or some other recognition. We are trying to prove our relation to him. Since you would also be a direct descendant, this would include you, as well.
So nice to make this connection with you!
Let's keep up the connection! My personal email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org
My grandfather Archibald (Archie) Lee Covington (1918-1994) was a full sibling of your mother Ruby. Their dad's full name was William Thomas Covington. He married your grandmother Verna in Sevier County, Tennessee. She was part Cherokee and was born in Cherokee, North Carolina. Her parents were John and Jeannette Hellard.
William's dad Jefferson (Stone?) Covington married Susan Smith, whom my granddad thinks may have been German and surnamed "Schmidt." But we have no proof. I also know she was an aunt of the late preacher J. Harold Smith.
I know Verna was alive when she sent her children to an orphanage in Tiffin, Ohio, out of financial necessity. Archie learned about her death after he left. His uncle Lee (William's brother) was an attorney in Knoxville, Tennessee, and his legal guardian. Archie served 4 years in the Navy before WWII, 4 years in the Army during the war.
FYI: I knew almost nothing about my granddad's siblings before today. If I don't give years (birth, marriage, death), I don't know them.

I am a descendant of Jefferson Stone, James G., John, and John Covington sr. My mother's name was Ruby Doris Covington Sprague and her father was Willie Covington. Her mother was Verna Hellard. Willie was the son of Jefferson Stone. I am looking for relatives and any information about this side of the Covington family. My mother's parents died when she was a child and she and her siblings were sent to an orphanage. So, we have no information about the family. Thanks for any help you can give us.

Are you related to Jesse buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth, VA? If so, was Pearl E. (Crawford) Covington, also buried at Oak Grove, his wife?

Thank you so much for your prompt response.
We are truely greatful for all that you do!
Well, I been wanting to sponsor your mom for a long time, just been a bit short of funds, so decided to sponsor one memorial every pay period, and your mother was top of my list........there is no thanks needed, you have been a great friend for many years now.

Would you by chance be related to Senior Covington buried at Arlington National Cemetery?
My name is Jerry Champion and I am a Board Member as well as a Genealogy Researcher here at the Baker Block Museum in Baker, Florida.
Recently, a member of the US Air Force contacted our Museum in search of any information we might have on an accident that occured at Eglin Field on the 12th of July, 1943 in which several individulas died. My research has confirmed that this Senior Covington was among those.
A memorial has been produced and I am in hopes of contacting any relatives so that we might recognize the families in a tribute to the people lost in this accident.
Any information will be most appreciated.
Thank you very much!!
Very truely yours,
